Love three day weekends! off to the gym this am. Will do the incline and work on my lower body. Then have to continue working on my house. Tree is down but have to pack everything and haul the boxes up with to the attic. Wash the rest of the floors to get mud puppy prints clean for at least a few min. thank goodness for wood floors and no carpet on my main floor. The refrigerators also need a good cleaning. That way I can plan my meals for the week. Weekends I don't plan as much but during the work week it really helps me.

My weight is still about the same. Need to weigh in shortly. Not too concerned as with increased activity and paying attention to portions and not drinking beer as my calories I know my weight will come down. My focus is on increasing my endurance, strengthening my lungs, and getting rid of these flabby muscles. Loosing the granny wings would be a big plus! Also the strength training to turn the tide on osteoporosis

Good for you for realizing that as you change your eating and keep active those extra pounds will come off.I have been trying to eat more whole and healthy foods. For me it has been and continues to be a long slow process. Have a great day.

Thanks hear48..it works for me just eating whole foods, a mostly plant based diet (not on a diet exactly). I've lost about 40 pounds since the end of 2012. Was not able to commit to steady exercise due out of control asthma I walked in the am when I could. Doc gave me all clear Sept 2013 for exercise so have been upping it slowly. A bout of pneumonia the past couple weeks, a new gym with better hours. In the last 15 - 20 pounds I'm changing my focus to exercise and still keeping to my eating plan. I have decided my life had become one of a hibernating couch potato and that is dramatically changing as I feel so much better about myself. Slow is good as it means a change in habits and lifestyle and is sustainable.

Like your plan! Some claim that spot toning does not work but it has always worked for me. Enjoy that long weekend.

Spot toning is not the goal. It's the strength part-the resistance weights that are really good for not allowing your muscles and bones to decay. It helps stop and reverse the muscle degeneration and the osteoporosis that usually happens when you age. It's part of building my body up so I don't become one of the frail elderly. I do NOT want to be like some of my friend who don't do things because of their age. Pet peeve. Them telling me I shouldn't do things because I'm too old.
