suma-ya-c's Journal, 22 Jan 22

Finally jumped on the scales. Exhaustion and insomnia is a killer. I have been loosely tracking but consuming well over 2000 calories daily🙄. I haven't been able to exercise due to ongoing pain, but a little of gentle stretching when I feel upto it. I know the scale could be worse! The only thing I have managed is to have 3-5 fruit and veg daily (on average) and practice grace (most of the time). Very hard to eat healthy on deliveroo and when you have yummy treats dropped off by friends, it would be bad form not to eat them right😂. Getting back to better health seems like a mammoth task, but going to focus on one meal at a time. Would love to get back to intermittent fasting but have fallen into the trap of late night snacking😤. Have a fantastic weekend my FS friends❤️

It can seem like a mammoth task, Suma. But breaking it down into manageable chunks is a great way forward. Kill one bad habit at a time 😙👍

Focusing on one meal at a time sounds like a good plan Suma. Be kind to yourself and I hope the pain feels more manageable soon 🧡💛💚

Well done Suma for taking accountability with the scales, less then a kilo in weight gain is nothing, and not be able to exercise due to pain must be challenging, it’s great that your trying to have as many fruit and veg as you can daily, I’m proud of you, and I honestly want you to succeed meeting your goals, I’ve said to you before, if you ever want to chat, I’m here and available for you………. Now the tough love part, using deliveroo too often is hindering your healthy eating, of course I can’t possibly imagine how little time you have to yourself to cook something better for you, and obviously, you should eat what you want to , we all need to feel the comfort that comes with some foods, But try and limit these takeaways to once a week if you can. ❤️

Aah, Suma. Not cool to feel exhausted and tired while also having ongoing pain must be so tough! I feel for you my friend! Great to hear that you're trying to have lots of fruit and veg though - well done on that! Take it easy on yourself - as you say - grace! Glad that you have some friends taking care of you as well - maybe one of them will bring you a healthy hearty soup sometime too. You will get back to it I'm sure and you're not too far away from your goal weight so being kind to yourself while you're going through this now is all good. Hope you have a fab weekend too! xxx

You're right Anne. I think I've just been a bit overwhelmed and newer habits are the first to go out the window. Will continue to aim for the goals I set in December...baby steps x

Thanks Ad, yes, I need to take it a step at a time. So hard to follow through sometimes...I realise increasingly that I operate on willpower which is why I keep falling down. If only I could build better habits in more solidly. All tips welcome😊

Lovely Nadia, thank you..yes I find that if my mental space isn't positive, everything slides. How do you keep your focus on days when life keeps throwing those curve balls and you're drained emotionally? That's when I reach for the sweetest treats😬.

Thanks Marge. So pleased you're better and out and about again. Did you enjoy your walk? We've had some crisp mornings here. I think I've lost sight of the why...how do you keep your focus on this log slog? I constantly let life events take over😤.

Hi Jamie, how are you? Missed seeing you on here. I have a takeaway habit that spans the past decade! It started with the weekly takeaway and in the past 4 years became my staple diet!🤦🏾‍♀️ However, this time around, the main reason for the deliveroos is my hands being badly affected - so unable to chop, lift etc. My thumbs are spared thankfully. But you're right, out with this, there are no excuses. I managed to not snack last night and stayed within calories, so a day at a time🤞. I have been staring at my food stats in general and some very interesting discoveries. I find I'm better when I'm posting more - keeps me accountable to myself. Will need to get back to that once joints improve. I also bought some pearl barley - will let you know how it tastes. I reached for a trifle but the meringue roulade and triple chocolate sundae won😂. I don't want to cut anything out foodwise - I just need to find balance again and kick start losing some weight. I believe I will still win the slowest journey on here 🐌😆

Suma in my eyes u are the perfect weight & truly a lovely young woman with a beautiful soul .... sometime we lack control or other issues that we push a side & focus on weight loss was guilty of that myself .... wish we could talk xxx

I know you asked Marge this but I would say I REFUSE to let life derail me. I have had highs and lows like we all get, sooner or later, but I dig my heels 👠 in and say the following rude phrase to myself "f*** this s*** I am going to live happily ever after."😄😄😄

Aww Nikina, thank you for your support. My friends know me too well - I will demand hearty soups😊. Self love is hard - I don't know how we fall into the trap of negative self dialogue but so many of us do. Thankfully I seem to have resisted falling down that rabbit hole this time around. Some people make grace look so easy - if only it was! All I want is balance. Did you do your park run? Sounds like a lot of fun x

Feel free to borrow that phrase as and when required ❤😘😀

Hi Trytry, how are you? You're absolutely right. Self flagellation achieves nothing and yet it's so easy to do. I've not lost weight since November, really need to get back into it🙄.

Anne, I love that phrase ❤️❤️. It's easily part of my vocabulary..ahem. Definitely borrowing it😂. Are you still doing IF twice a week or have you increased frequency?
23 Jan 22 by member: suma-ya-c
Aww Nadia, you're so sweet❤️. I am a normal bmi yes, but you know how we all have a weight where we feel most confident - for me that weight is around 50-52kg. If I get to that point and maintain I'll be content. If I reach my actual target - amazing, but I can't see maintenance at that weight being particularly realistic. So my 🎯 is aspirational at best, but it gives me hope x

3 times, Suma. On the days it dovetails with my schedule. Not today though. Off for my breakfast now. Chin up, my darling xx
