It sounds awful! There are so many things going around at the moment. One guy at work is on his 4th bout of it since about mid-November. He won't give in and take time off or see a Doctor which just means he's spreading it around the rest of us. I enforced the same rule I have at home, yesterday - If he won't go do something about it by seeing a doctor, then it's not bad enough to complain about. It got something of a cheer from the rest of the team.

WFN - you must be so worn out with all the coughing. I do hope you feel better by the end of the weekend.

As lots of you know I collect cookbooks. I got tired of sitting here playing stupid computer games and pulled out a huge vegetarian cookbook and started reading it again. I've decided to take one book and make new things out of it for awhile. This one I've made a few things out of that have been really good so will start with it.
Phooka, I understand that situation, good for you speaking up. We've rather had that at work lately. I'm sure I caught this from teammates who won't take care of themselves. I haven't been this sick for a long time and don't wish it on anyone else. Doobrie, coughing hard does make one tired but it's hard to sleep. ;) Heating up some already made veggie and bean soup for "brunch" so I can take the rest of my meds. Chickens have liquid water now and have been fed. I think the 3rd hen is working on laying her first egg so will go back out in awhile and check for gifts.

Been there; done that; it's a stinker. I admire your ambition to do even a little exercise. And, yes. I'd count coughing as exercise. 🤣🤣

Sorry to hear about the hacking away... I, too, collect cookbooks and cooking magazines. It is amazing when you look at them after 10-15 years. Styles and what was considered healthy then is a "sin" today. Each of us has to make our own choices and what works best for us....

Clay Pot Baker-- love the name. I do have a wonderful book of one pot meals in clay pots but currently don't have a clay pot so they normally end up in a cast iron dutch oven. I have cookbooks going back into the 1920's so yes they are interesting and one shelf of just diet/ heart healthy books that are interesting to see changes in nutrition theory. I delve into cuisines from all over the globe. I lost count at 500 a couple years ago and have added some since. Bill, hope you haven't gotten this crud. Lucy, glad you are better and thanks for reminding me I forgot the Flonase the doc ordered yesterday. Proudmamma, hope you Mon is OK, coughing with a pulled muscle would be so painful. I think baby steps I'm getting better, after the morning round of drugs I'm not coughing quite as much.

WFN, I hope you get to feeling better soon. You have had a rough time this year with the crud, haven't you? Get your meds and drink your soup. How are you chickens? A friend of mine in PA says her chickens don't lay many eggs in the winter and they have snow everywhere now.

Hi Mom2, 2017 wasn't good to me so figure I've had enough for awhile, once this is over 2018 will be good. This is the third trip to bronchitis land that started in 2017 and have had swollen glands since October that my doc and I have been trying figure out and an almost constant migraine since Oct. Chickens just started laying one on Christmas Eve, I've been getting a few though with the cold they have been frozen and cracked when I found them, 3 edible ones. I might get some this week not frozen since it is supposed to warm up some.

I hope you are able to put the crud behind you. It is no fun. Wishing you a better 2018.

WFN --- do you think you could be allergic to your chickens? Just a thought.

Doubt it Mom, they are outside in a coop and I've had a parrot for years in the house with no issues. I work in an office of cubes (cube factory) and there always seems to be people there sick.

I completely forgot about your parrot! Well, so much for that theory. I am glad. Yes, I hear you about picking up germs at work. My daughter works in an office, also, and she is always picking up a bug. Bronchitis is the worst to get rid of, too. Hang in there.

Sandy has a point WFN. You may not be allergic to your chickens but chickens can spread diseases to humans. Does your doctor know you keep chickens? Might be worth mentioning it as you've been ill for 3 months now.

No idea if my doc knows, doubt it. I do wash my hands after handling them. I have to see her on Tuesday, I'll mention it. I already had that appt set up after the essentially negative neck ultrasound (just swollen lymph nodes) indicating my body was still fighting something somewhere. Her physician's assist who I saw last week felt I should keep it.
