My day: Slept late as a late night due to a high school football game and then chatting with DD and SIL, then the the almost 1 hour drive home. Nice night had fun with family and extra kids who mostly call me gramma. I love being a gramma!! It's dang fun! I feel so bad for those grandparents who don't have a blast with their grandkids!! My kid's dad included (my ex), he is missing so much.

Mowed most of the grass, lawnmower won't start to do the rest---my ongoing issue with lawnmowers, challenged. Did a bit of weeding, not much. A few other chores done. Should be weed eating, am not.

Exercise mowing the grass, so far also a 15 min arms video for the TRX on you tube.

Not much else accomplished as it's rather a crash and burn day, some spent just sitting outside under my maple enjoying the day. The weather is nice, actually one of those near perfect summer days! sunny in the 80's, a nice breeze though somewhat humid, not unbearable. We are under a tornado watch until sometime tomorrow. MMMMMMM we will see what the evening brings for weather. The neighborhood is quiet with the locusts screaming and a lawnmower off in the distance watching the dragon flies, weird we do not see them often.

I so agree about the GK! Love the time I have with them! And DD fur babies. I used to always have a hard time with lawnmowers. Went through a riding lawnmower every summer. Must be me. Sometimes its just better to let someone else do it. In my case, it was. Love watching nature work outside with the butterflies, hummingbirds, dragon flies, bees, etc. Except when its bugs eating my food bearing plants.

Agreed on the bugs and this year the squirrels eating all my raspberries! I'm on the 4th new lawnmower all different brands for the year and I need to take it in to have the electric start fixed, it's missing a part, should have taken it right back but was trying to get the mowing done between storms and have just been using it for a month or so as is. It's been working with the pull start until yesterday. sheesh! I'm defiantly lawnmower jinxed! Last time someone else mowed my yard they mowed down all my herbs, they thought they were weeds...even though they were in a bed and all weeded. Fur babies as well, took mine for a walk in the early evening, we didn't walk much ended up talking to a neighbor I don't see often. Had a nice chat with her. Pup didn't mind not walking much as she was getting her tummy rubbed.

The squirrels ate some of my tomatoes. Never thought they ate tomatoes! A some cherry tomatoes had been picked at by birds. My fault, since I put bird seed out for them. Might just be an invitation for dessert! I can't imagine anyone not noticing the herbs were weeded! Maybe roping the herbs off just before they come to mow? Seems like a lot of money goes toward buying and maintaining lawnmowers, plus your time is money too! Especially, when there are more fun things to do, like working on home or being with family and friends.

Kattay, I really normally enjoy working on my yard, mowing is good exercise. This year it has been a challenge. $40.00 a week for mowing (going rate around here) does not fit my budget and I'm paranoid about people running over or weed eating my plants. I will keep on mowing myself. grins..

Yup squirrels and deer like tomatoes as does my crazy pup. She steals them at least the ones at her level. LOL

Yes, it is good exercise to mow your own. I gave up on trying to keep it up after the "C". I don't think I was getting much exercise with the riding lawnmower! I didn't have to weed eat because of the pine trees around the house. I was having the guy come every other week and sometimes just once a month depending on the growth. He said he would set it up anyway I wanted it done. It was $35.00 each time he cut. Now I don't have to worry about it.

didn't get to the lawn, should not have sat down on the couch. Fell asleep, guess maybe I'm tired. So now I really don't feel like doing anything. Cleaned up the dishes and crashed on the couch. I guess this will start my week with a rest day on exercise. Grins...
