Saturday was warm and sunny but strong gusty winds. Coon trapper was here set traps, no coons trapped yet, still no estimate another man does that. Not much exercise except from scraping the remaining wallpaper border in the kitchen, the fruit border in my avatar is no longer except for a small peeling section that will be gone this am. YAY!!

Still have this rubbery adhesive need get off. Tried the heat gun, that would take me weeks, though it does bubble it and I could pull it off.
Was going to try something else after a walk around the neighborhood. Next door neighbor stopped in, had a cup of tea with her, she stayed until 5:00 more than 2 hours. Another neighbor had stopped in earlier in the day for about an hour. No walk, maybe today.

Going to lunch today with the neighbor to a friend of her's restaurant that is struggling. Neighbor has owned several very successful restaurants and is trying to help her friend fix the problems. She knows I've also spent many years in the business, so wants my input. I know they make they make their own what is called a pork tenderloin. (it's not really a tenderloin) Here they are boneless pork tenderized & pounded thin, breaded and deep fried. I haven't had one since I began this journey. Will splurge. Now if they have fried pickles or green tomatoes I'll be in trouble.... It's Missouri local café type food.

Did you have your own restaurant? I love fried vegetables. My condolences at the loss of your fruit paper.

We did have a restaurant but it succumbed primarily to family discord, and 2 dang stubborn men, my dad and DH. I often wish Gordon Ramsey would have been around back then. I tried pulling it into the lighter healthier foods back in the mid 80's but the chef, my DH, and my parents who were involved wanted to stick with heavy traditional continental cuisine. Giggles****That fruit has been annoying me for 5 1/2 years, it came with my house. Once I get my kitchen done and have a laptop again I'll post before and after photos, this tablet will only let me change my image.

Fried green tomatoes.....crispy outside creamy inside, what were you saying? I totally get the wallpaper battles. This house was full of 70's flowers and novelty paper. Trucks in the boys room, pool balls in the basement. The last couple rooms I left the paper and painted over it. Now I am changing out the Star Trek looking light fixtures and and the plastic trim.

We had the same weather here in Narnia and more of the same today! Today will be 60F. WOW! I am impressed with you tackling that job of removing old wallpaper. I know it can be tough. Enjoy your day out with your friends.

Oh my gosh wait! before you peel that last bit of wallpaper off lick it! If it tastes like snozberries sell it on ebay for a million dollars and all your money problems are over!

Hmmm - wallpaper border glue - I used to know a quick remedy for it - hot water, vinegar and a little dish soap?

First time I tried fried green tomatoes I thought ... seriously? WOW @Mom2Boxers 60 degrees F? I'm just about to head out and shovel the 5 feet of snow off my 'sundeck'.

Some fried veggies or pickles would have been good, no such luck. I felt like Gordon Ramsey or Richard Irvine... grins. So called best in the area tenderloin sandwich was ok, nothing special. Side choices were French fries, steak fries, frozen tater tots, canned pears, frozen cauliflower mix or canned green beans. Had steak fries, cooked ok not seasoned at all, so tasteless. Lots f comments about what could be improved and I wasn't in the kitchen, hazel agreed with all my observations, still need to give her some feedback on the menu. Next door neighbor I do walk with her sometimes, very slowly not very far, 87 hip replacement a couple years ago and still has trouble walking very far.

The vinegar mix doesn't touch this rubbery stuff, tried it. Goof off is helping but will still be a long process. Back to scrubbing the goo off.

I have to confess that I joined myfitnesspal last year, but I never participate. I receive their email and look at their recipes. I saw Oven-fried Okra but have not tried it. If you all keep talking about okra I might. lol

Now I'm so hungry for fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, fried okra! Nothing that's easy for me to get around here, so I guess I'm lucky because of that - although I'd really like some.

CR, I want to make a lot of recipes, but I am holding off until I move to my new place. It might take a while, but I'm going to set a date in my google calendar for oven-fried okra! :)
