Anne145 I have struggled with my weight since being a teenager, up and down I tried all the usual diet plans e.g ww and slimming world . I found out about primal/paleo lifestyle and read a lot of books about the change in our bodies with different foods and exercise. I eat clean and low carb but high fats ( good fats) I was borderline diabetic and had horrendous pains in my feet . At no time did Drs ever mention my weight being in the obese category! . I am now clear of diabetes and have absolutely no pains anywhere in my body now and can easily walk 5/10miles . At 42 I knew I needed to get things under control not just for me but for my kids. My partner also did a primal restoration nutritional course in which he really helped me understand foods and our body . Oh and I also gave up alcohol ( I used to drink wine every weekend, now I probably have a small amount twice a year for xmas n my birthday)

Wow, quite the journey. But it illustrates that you have to find what works for you as an individual and that takes a bit of time and effort. Then more effort once you find your 'method' to get where you want to be. And then more effort to maintain! No-one said it was easy! But sooooo worthwhile. I will look up primal restoration as I like to steal a little bit from everyone's diet/fitness plans and apply it to my own lifestyle.
