I am 63 yo and have battled my weight most of my adult life. Classic yo-yo dieter over the years. I just recently realized that I am remind myself of my mother though much earlier. She was 73 when she passed and use to complain of having no energy, had bad feet so she couldn't walk and was over weight most of her life also. I feel as if I just stepped into her shoes! On one hand...think that at 63 I am still somewhat young. I am a Nurse and work mostly with the older generation and am constantly reminded what a youngster I am :) In truth a lot of my patients are in better shape than me. I have some 90 year olds that put me to shame. ( Update: Retired last year) My husband of 47 years has never had a weight problem, of course he also never sits still, eats like a bird and comes from a family that weight control was never an issue. So, at this point in my life I feel like I am an embarrassment to him, I can't keep up with him. He can run circles around me. So, I am trying to lose the weight but more importantly get healthier. I am not getting any younger and at this rate I will develop health problems that come from obesity. I have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren that I would like to be around for. So, I am determined to lose weight and begin walking.
