suma-ya-c's Journal, 19 Jun 22

Glad to see the numbers moving down. Calories haven’t been great but an improvement on previous weeks. And I’m back to doing IF. The battle to not snack at night is real! Not managing daily IF like I used to, but working up to it. Trying to fit a mini workout in where I can, but how did life get so busy and hectic again?

I am going to join Piggy’s challenge…Ad you 🐓, join us!😂

I am also focusing on doing one thing daily that feeds my soul. For a long time I have neglected her and I want to be good to her again. Strange how the lessons of slowing down over the past couple of years have been lost so quickly and we are back on the sick cycle carousel 🎠.

Happy Sunday y’all💕

You sound very measured about everything. Not gung ho, not hard on yourself. I like balance in life. I like your journal entry! And I won't be doing Piggy's challenge. I hunt alone!!

Feed the soul not the stomach ☺️. I’m ignoring the 🐓😂

Thanks Anne. I don’t do extremes…it has never worked for me. Still trying to find work-life balance and not get sucked in to drama. I’m usually a lone wolf too, but hoping a team challenge will clear away the cobwebs in my mind.

Absolutely Ad…I’d forgotten the importance of nourishing my soul. I’m building a Lego orchid this weekend. I used love Lego, no idea why I stopped.

It’s amazing how we just stop doing stuff because life just suck away our time, this has got me thinking I need to start reading more again 😊 I’m actually jealous you’re going to be building Lego.

A Sharpe fan? I’m struggling to find new books I like. I am a huge Dickens and Brontë fan. And definitely into a good ‘whodunnit’.

Addison, I just read through your trufflegate 😂. I love dark chocolate truffles - they are what give life meaning.

Love this post Suma 💛 You sound like you are getting in a good headspace 💪🙂And nice loss too! 👏 A lego orchid sounds like a perfect activity to start feeding your soul. I like meditative, mildly creative activities like cross stitch and sewing which need just enough attention to focus my mind, but not enough to be stressful. They also keep my hands busy and stop me snacking!

I love to read too and have a huge pile of books on my bedside table. Not novels generally, though but I am ploughing through Bleak House. Also got Stalingrad on the go and a book about the current head of Scientology written by his father. I find I am getting sidetracked by all the wonderful podcasts out there though!

@Addison, that sounds like chocolate heaven 😋 🤤. Why can’t kale smoothies taste like chocolate or pastries…sigh!

@Ad, is the series on Netflix any good? I’m also really into fantasy. Was a massive dragonlance fan growing up.

@Marge, I’d love to be able to cross stitch. It sounds so lovely and relaxing. My mum tried to teach me to knit when I was young and I have fond memories of sitting with her while she patiently oversaw my efforts. I don’t know why we haven’t done it as adults…one of the massive negatives of living so far away from home.

@Anne, I found Bleak house really heavy. Tale of two cities has always been my favourite with Great Expectations a close second. I’m always on the lookout for good podcast recommendations x
