Six more weigh ins and my target of losing 4kg during August is 0.6kg away and looking just about practical.
I'm planning on keeping up an average deficit of 700 calories until I get down to 77.8kg - At my current rate of loss that's about eleven days away. 77.8kg is the point where that NHS BMI calculator first tells me "You a healthy weight but that the higher end of the range keep an eye on it" So there's no pat on the backs coming from the online Matron at the NHS for all of my hard work! After that I'm thinking of targeting a small daily deficit of 250 calories for a month or two to see how it goes.

Yesterday just one breakage to report, I dropped my squirrel busting bird feeder and sheered a nut off.
It cost me £45 - There is good after care service though and when I fessed up about the drop and the suppliers are sending me a new spring assembly free gratis. I have also had a good response from the lawnmower battery suppliers and they are also sending a new battery under warranty - The failure was timed well as there was only three months of a three year warranty left. Usually that doesn't happen but as the batteries are £300 a sort of good news failure.
Incoming today I have a 16kg kettle bell and two pairs of walking shorts from decathlon. All of my old shorts had got stupidly loose.

I'm really enjoying my progression with kettlebells and I cannot wait for kettlebell o'clock each day.
All I would like extra in my little impromptu home gym is a larger and less slippy mat.

In the garden raspberries and figs are going well along with courgettes and cucumbers.
In keeping with a few others I have added an image of me showing the current physical state of things regarding my lack of muscles and bit of a gut to spur me on to continue with my improvements.

Have a great day everyone.

Glad you are enjoying your kettlebells so much. You look in pretty good shape and having that bit of extra muscle will do you the world of good. Have you heard of sarcopenia? Its normal to lose muscle mass as we age so it is super important to counter act that with weight bearing exercise so go you!

Thanks all - I had to google sarcopenia. All the walking and jogging (160+mile PCM) I have been doing over the last 10 weeks have really fixed my legs from a muscle point of view. So I know that quick changes are possible, but I think that my upper body is going to be a much longer term project.

Yes, your legs look well defined. It is amazing how quickly the body responds to weight-bearing exercise so you might be surprised how quick it comes along. And the benefit begins right from the very first session!
