Yesterday was a rather lost day. I tried the flexiril my doc ordered about 10:30. Not supposed to make you sleepy but within about 30 min I couldn't stay awake. Laid down under a feather comforter and fell asleep for 5 hours! I rarely take naps. After that I was groggy the rest of the day. Maybe I was simply worn out and needed the extra sleep. Bed about 10:00 and no trouble at all sleeping. That was late for me as I was on the phone with my oldest DD.

Today is catch up on weekend chores and a stop to visit my neighbor who is in a nursing home when I run to the store for chicken feed. Exercise will be hauling boxes of Christmas decorations etc. back to the attic, up a fold down ladder. I would love to get my garage so I can get my car inside before the winter mix tonight and tomorrow.

Prep for the week won't be as much as I wanted. Bread, a lentil dish, some prepped veggies, not sure what else yet. It will be using up what is already in the frig and while I'm out a grocery stop for some veggies and fruit. I know we are working through lunch on Monday. Catered in lunch will be from a local fried chicken place that is pretty good. Ordered chicken strips, will give my mashed potatoes that come with it away (obviously instant) and take my own sides.

The weather forecast is warmer for the week, no near zero days. I will take my skates with me to work so if I get off close to on time I can go to the ice rink for a bit after work and get in some much needed cardio. The Crown Center outdoor rink is about 5 min from where I work and for over 60's free admission. It's funny, skating simply melts the stress away and makes me feel good. I am going to try to get there often for the next couple of months that it is open.

Did you get any relief from the meds?

Kathy, trying the flexiril again today and aleve. Seems like the flexiril decreases the neck pain a bit, the aleve tames the HA a little. Just will have to live with it for awhile and try to push through it. Breaks I'm finding are mandatory doing things @ home. With referrals just being sent in last Thursday for pain management, neurologist, ENT (for a small cyst in my sinuses) and the neuro surgeon it may take a little bit to get everything set up. I also have a routine dentist appt set up for Feb. teeth also affect your whole body.

Flexiril is an excellent muscle relaxant.

Good luck with all that WFN.

I have used flexeril. It might be the med, but maybe you were just exhausted! Our body and brain need rest. #selfcare

Mairsey, Simply tired may have been my response to flexiril. It's a busy time @ work due to tax season: A new season for some of you. ;) I am a customer service rep in the financial industry (47 mutual fund companies) so we have our own season; January through April. I have been pushing myself through work and I am totally aware that any kind of pain makes you more tired. Tis the season for working through lunch and overtime, crazy busy days, and even nuttier people to deal with. I rarely mind either one as the bigger paychecks help fund my projects. I'm thinking Sat may turn into being my crash and burn day until April. Trying today to get my house back in some order after Christmas, with more breaks than I would like.

WFN try taking just half a flexeril at a time if the whole pill is making you too groggy. I’ve been using these for years in tablet form. If they are the tablets, they should split for a half dose. I do that most nights so that I’m not on such a heavily medicated sleep. 🤷🏻‍♀️Insurance companies now haye to give flexeril to people over 60 because long term use has been linked to dementia.(as has breathing!) 🤪 Sorry! My cynicism is showing. Take care, Hon!🙆🏻‍♀️Hugs!

Sheesh, it's linked to dementia--am 68, the insurance companies are nuts. That is all I need. It's actually at the moment a stop gap measure until I see pain management to see if it helps. They are tablets and I have on of those magic pill splitters that I inherited with all my Mom's stuff. NP with cynicism, I've been unhappy with how the insurance companies "know" more about you than your doc. I'm on a rescue inhaler that doesn't work well because my insurance company will only cover that one. They quit covering the one that works. Big drugs paying off insurance companies???? Yeah, don't get started much on that one. ;)

Actually getting some things done today, need to head out shortly and brave the stores and try to stop for a few minutes and see my 90 yo neighbor at the nursing home, she is difficult to escape from. I hope I don't get to where I'm telling someone the same story from the past that someone has heard hundreds of times. So far Christmas stuff has made it to the garage. 10 big totes and 3 other boxes.
