wholefoodnut's Journal, 12 Jan 15

8,737 steps yesterday. Slept better after taking the valerian but took my fitbit off sometime during the night. Yesterday did not go as planned. Was bad, had 2 glasses of wine last night.

Counting the days until Sprouts opens on my side of the metro, 9 days. 3 hours and 7 stores to not quite complete my small grocery list, all supermarkets. To say the least I was grouchy!! I could have gotten it all at Sprouts except for a new supply of Dixie cups and Aleve. Nothing on my list was unusual, fruits, veggies, seed, nuts.

One Indian rice and lentil dish complete, it smells amazing and tastes yummy. The recipe said 6 servings, I think it made 15+: will make half next time. Potatoes cooked for the Cajun potato cakes, cannelloni beans cooked, some fruits and veggies dried and chopped for my parrot. Tree is still standing there with just a few decorations.

87 yo neighbor calls about 3:00, couldn't hear her on the phone, she sounded awful. Went to her house, she has some new health issue docs aren't sure what yet. 2 hours later make it back to my house.

Dang, just remembered I have to take food to work one day this week, soup and stew theme. Extras from my rice won't fit.

Busy busy you. Rather than being a fly on the wall there I'd prefer to be seated in your kitchen enjoying the scent of the rice. Have a great week!

Sleep is wonderful isn't it? Glad to hear you got some. I slept better last night and kept my mind off my dental issue! :)

You are a good person checking in on the neighbor.

Bella, you can come sit in my kitchen any day, I have of rice and lentils to share. Jenn, glad you had some sleep as well. Neighbor is a remarkable woman but her health seems to be going steadily downhill since she broke her hip. She has no family nearby, lots of friends. She reminds me of mom in some ways.

Jeri, I have a 86 year old woman that I check on every week or she checks in on me. She reminds me of my grandma (my Mom's mom.)

Jennifer, that's good. Hazel next door is one year younger than my mom would be. She checks on me also. Both of my next door neighbors are women, one a widow the other a bit younger than me divorced. If we don't see each other for a bit in winter we check, summers people are outside so we sit in the front yards chit chat a lot.
