wholefoodnut's Journal, 06 Nov 14

Good day yesterday except I adjusted my pedometer so it was more sensitive instead of less so it recorded 20000+ steps, not at all accurate!! Re-adjusted, so back tocounting steps and comparing. Not much exercise due to the lateness of getting home.

New natural food store is good. Bought a new grain to me, kaniwa, supposed to be similar to quinoa in many ways also a couple of orgainic store made brats. Their sausage choices are interesting much different than my usual butcher so options are always good. Also stocked up on some fruit and a few veggies.

Terrific produce, butcher shop type meat counter, fish/seafood area, bulk nuts/ grains etc. Not as big and varied as Whole Foods but found out they are opening one this winter fairly close to me, a very good thing. Dang hour to get home thanks to rush hour traffic, so thankful I don't deal with major highways daily, full moon people were driving insanely.

If no baby yet, will head for the gym after work. Actual workout day so hoping to do more than Monday.

So is it childish of me to be jealous of your 'coming soon' WholeFoods? I read your journals and envy your choices; you probably did do all those steps as I virtually shadow you shopping...

It's a small but growing chain called Sprouts Farmer's Market. They have a nice web site with a slew of recipies on it. NO WAY did I do all those steps. It was like 12 miles no. Wandered slowly around the store looking, stopped and chit chatted with several people. I love to cook and try out new foods from all over the world, I do try to keep my choices mostly healthy for me.

I'm fortunate to have whole foods and trader joes in my town, plus several same health food stores. Glad you'll have that convenience too, my friend. Us, whole food eaters, need some convenience too! Xoxox

Whole Foods and Trader Joes are about 40 miles one way from here so getting a natural food store about 10 miles north is a good thing, we have one that now expanded into carrying more food about 10 miles south, not primarily vitamins and cosmetics but for most things they are so expensive. I will still frequent the ethnic stores as well.
