So sad, vacation is over today. Wish I had money to retire and pursue lots of interests.

@home, home s good. Lots I should do but not doing much, making bread for the week, cooked maya-coba beans for the week. Ran up to the corner store for Romine. Salad for lunch tomorrow. Tomatoes and cucumbers in the garden and fresh herbs. Need to make dinner, mmmm, not sure what....

It was a good week, fun with the kids, DD and her DH, actually also have a request for a dinner date (approved first by my daughter, weird) sometime in the near future when he is in my area. Interesting guy but am sure not a long term thing. Should be fun, a big step for me, he's an awesome cook and likes different foods, I've known him for a few years. No strings just dinner.

Will be in bed by 7:30 tonight, so tired.

Sorry vacation is over, but it sounds like you had a great time with family. Good luck on your "no strings attached" date. Big step for you!

...just as long as he is approved by your daughter. What type of work do you do? What on earth are maya coba beans?

I'm a customer service rep for a large mutual fund company, actually work for what is called a transfer agent not the actual fund. Stressful and very demanding job. Man who asked if I might like to go to dinner is a friend of my DD and her DH. Mayo-coba beans are a Mexican white bean. They are one of my favorites, I get them at Mexican markets, natural food stores, or a few of the chains also carry them in the stores with a large Hispanic customer base. Course you can use them in any dish that you use beans. Other favs are favas, adzuki, cranberry beans, and garbanzo. It's funny how they all taste so different.

I've never heard of cranberry beans either. Yeah, just the description of your job sounds stressful. I play with toys for a living. My boss is 300 miles away, and his boss is another 1200 miles. So...do you might like to go to dinner?

Really toys? What do you do? cranberry beans are used often in Italian cooking. Weird I was hunting for them, the store I bought them from closed. Couldn't find them anywhere. Was in Walmart, I rarely grocery shop there but decided instead of making another stop to pick up some split peas, they had them and actually now have several different kinds of beans.
