Another lovely day in Devon UK - We chillaxed at home cut the grass and pottered about the garden.
Food wise spurred on by some inviting looking outdoor cooking on on FS I have pushed the boat out.
For evening meal it was a sous vide and BBQ tag team event.
Pork shoulder accompanied by home grown potatoes and runner beans.

29 hours Sous Vide at 68C then 2 hours BBQ on a low temp 110C.
Full of faff but worth it.

I did post some outdoor cooking this week but I don't think mine could be classed as inviting looking 🤔 In my defence, I was roughing it😀 This does look amazing.👍

I had to look up Sous Vide. An amazing concept. Did you BBQ the meat after the sous vide treatment? It looks roasted.

Yes Hecate, exactly that Sous vide cooking tastes juicy always but can look a little anaemic. It's fairly common with a special meal to finish stuff on a BBQ - It gives it a smoky charred finish plus makes it look more appetising - With steak the BBQ phase is a really hot and short 30 second each side. The main advantage of SV apart from not drying out food is that the timing is much less critical plus or minus ten minutes rather than 30 seconds.
