Hi Chestnut63. I use the Strava app on my phone, easy to install and free.

Most phones have a tracker on or you can download an app for free if you only want it to track your steps. X

Good morning Chestnut, when I signed up for FS, Google Fit automatically flagged up itself as it works with the app, I've had no problems and you can track other fitness activities on it also 😊

Chestnut, Google Fit is just an app on your phone. I just strap my phone onto my ankle, press track fitness and away I go 😊

Peat 68, kathy thank you for your input all the FS members are very helpful, i have to make sure i keep on walking, i must remember to walk back home or i will find myself miles from home and sleeping on the streets, which is okay when it is fine but when its cold and wet?

I suggest that you get more than a pedometer. They are helpful but there are so many better alternatives. I suggest that you research fitness trackers. I wear a Fitbit but there are other brands. Tracking total activity is easy these days and gives better insight as to how many calories you are burning...

Hi chesty - I got one from Amazon - just a cheap one and it certainly works - links by bluetooth to iPhone and you can track by day or week etc. I found it interesting to monitor how many steps I was walking with Roco - was quite surprised that I was exceeding 12000 on an 'ordinary' day when I was wearing it regularly. The one I have doesn't count calories but I am not convinced that is an accurate reflecting as it cant tell how much effort you are exerting - for instance mine would register the same on a flat road and it would across a ploughed field on an incline. I am sure some will compare pulse and do some sort of calculation but then you start talking serious bucks. Depends how much you want to pay - pensioner.... I cant really see you sleeping on the streets - somehow I have you as someone who likes his home comforts.....

Chris so points raised where do i start, i think i've my response to people suggestions to my original already have been covered but i am allways open to extra input thank you. Now getting to the point about being homeless i did spend 48 hours for charity/TV programme on the streets, would you believe it i worked for the Department of Work and Pensions .
