When I came home on Thursday evening from my cabin I found that my house had lots of miller moths the ones that sometimes appear in packages of grain products. I have spent almost all of today going through my pantry and cabinets. Found some in sealed pasta packages. Still working on cleaning, tossing anything remotely suspect and re-organizing along the way. A plus--have found some things that I forgot I had. Another plus is that it spurred me on to start sorting through things. I need to go through my whole house.

It's a cold windy day so a good day to just stay home. The body hurts from the drastic weather changes. Will try the gym tomorrow as I need to get rid of these little critters. I ordered a planting tower to start some herbs and greens growing inside. I have been skipping buying them @ the store unless frozen as they spoil before I can eat them all.

Food is OK so far today. I need to plan for the next week and the coming
weekend. I will get some exercise in before the day is over. I did get a bit of abs in--

I do try to keep moving. Work mentally tires me more than it used to--I think it may be knowing that I will be leaving the co next year I have less patience with people not doing their jobs.

We travel a lot and sometimes are gone for a month at a time. I usually take most of pantry food with us and what's left goes in fridge but one time I forgot I had dog treats in a cabinet. Came home to this se pesky moths and it took me a couple days to figure out what they had gotten into...ugh!

Diana and Morticia, it is amazing where they come from!! I also found some in sealed containers of bismati rice and a 5 grain hot cereal. Not certain if I have found everything yet. Now that errands have been run back to work on my mess

I am going through the same problem with the moths. I had never heard of them before! I had bought a large bag of dog food and it was infested with them from the pet store. I found out when I started seeing worms on the wall above where it was stored. Then found the moths next time I opened the bag (i use large bag to refill a small airtight container weekly). Be sure to check around your ceiling area for cocoons! I have been battling them for 2 weeks. One moth can lay hundreds of eggs. I have NO food accessible, and fortunately the offending dog food wasn’t stored in my kitchen it was in a utility room. I worry about them getting in my kitchen. I hope you get rid of them soon!

3boyzma, they can be awful for awhile. they also love ceilings. I have had this issue before. They can appear in sealed packages from the grocery and eat holes to get out. My dog food is stored in my garage at the moment. Spraying with alcohol kills the moths.

The photo --would not let me put comments is the Italian soup. OK so per Rachael Ray's book 4 servings I think it made 15-20! Now I have to freeze a lot of it. Tasty and filling. I did add Herbs de Province seasoning to the chick peas when I cooked them.
