wholefoodnut's Journal, 20 Aug 14

Walk this am helped boost my energy all day. Was good until after work, dropped my rider off and drove the 9 more miles to Walmart to pick up prescription refills.

Was 95 degrees, pollen levels are really high, ozone in the high moderate, high humidity, car's ac is hopeless. Was happy when back in the ac at the store. Had planned a few more stops, skipped all but one and came home, for some reason the heat was really getting to me, causing a strange headache. Odd.

Much better after home in the ac, some quick food, and a couple big glasses of ice water. By then late and have only been lazy on the computer and half watching the TV. Ok now.

No exercise after this am, quick food was heating up leftover baked potatoes, cooking 4 thick slices of bacon and scrambled eggs.

Hoping the weather is better for your breathing today.

Thanks, breathing wasn't too bad, think just the heat and humidity got to me. It's supposed to be another hot, humid day today. Heat advisory so probably won't be mowing the grass till the weekend, then I'll have time to do it in short intervals. It has been a cool summer till the kids go back to school, strange. Picked up my prescription allergy meds yesterday, I've been out the last 2 days and back to the Claritin I had on hand. Prescription stuff works better for me.

Sounds like you deserve today off. Too much heat and humidity.

Going in and out from the 90+ heat back into the air conditioning confuses our sinuses - LOL. Not to worry - cooler weather will be here before we know it.

A few days of really hot and humid is unusual, we usually have lots of them....I've liked this summer of 85 or so most days, we don't get summers like this often, hate to see the cold coming. Ozone is down today since it's windy, easier to breathe. Still going to put off mowing till the weekend and no extra driving.

Yesterday I had sneezing and sore throat. Today the nose is stuffy and still sore throat. I am wondering if it is allergies. I usually get hayfever around September 1st.

This is the season where most people around where I live get cedar-fever really bad. It can last up to December or January depending on how cold winter is. Wholefoodnut, have you had migraines before? Temperature extremes and humidity levels can/do cause them. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer and know most triggers.

Ragweed, nettle and something else are out in full force here in Kansas city, Deb. Not sure where you are. Ehynek, I have heard that the cedar allergies are pretty bad. Chronic migraines are awful. I used to have them, now it's just occasional, and rarely a debilitating one. Neurologist helped me get them manageable, then losing weight, eliminating processed meats, and exercise seems to have helped decrease them to rare. Temperature swings and high humidity used to also trigger mine, among other things. My weird heat headache wasn't a migraine, I don't think I've ever had one like it.

Did you have the car ac cleaned? It accumulates filth and an interesting variation of germs which can induce more interesting allergies as well as headaches if not periodically maintained, especially with the humidity. Also the heat wreaks havoc with the blood pressure... again doorway to headaches and dizzyness.

AC isn't working in my car, threw almost $700.00 at it last year, still mot working. Car does need a good cleaning, carpets, the works, but windows open all the time. That's why I'm limiting my driving till the hot eases up. Right, heat and humidity messing with me.
