Lisfifty, it's that time of year. I'm re-vamping much of my backyard, both to be able to grow veggies (crappy soil) and make it so I don't have to work hard to keep it under control in the future. No hot bath, shower only..bathtub 1960's plumbing also needs a re-do. Now the jetted tub I want to put in would feel good instead of the too shallow to be comfy one I have. :))) someday

Encourages me. I am thinking of getting a raised bed for the back yard. Hope you have a good rest. What diet are you using ?

I was so disheartened yesterday - we got a major downpour and it beat my roses up - hopefully they'll recover today.

Roses despite the hype that are delicate will recover. The blooms may be beaten up, dead head them and they will bloom on and on till frost.

Re: diet. I just try to keep calories down to around 1200 eat primarily a plant based diet with some fish and other meat proteins here and there little sugar. I quit drinking beer and wine most of the time. Lately I've not been good, stuck 3 pounds from my goal. I try to walk on my gazelle at least 20minutes before work and added strength training at a gym usually every other day. I cut back on that due to advice from a trainer but because of increased arthritis pain was going back to every other day then ended up sick. 55 pounds lighter and feel so much better. I'm building my raised beds only 6" high and filling them with a compost humus mix with some leaf mold added in. Will continue bring back the leaf mold mix from the woods my daughter lives in and adding more for awhile each trip there.
