Do you mean you have a side-by-side style refrigerator? That's what was in my home when I moved in, never seemed to have room for much of anything. Now I have a french door bottom freezer fridge, and I like it much better.

side by side:I have a shorter frig space than most houses anymore and it was the only one I could find to fit that wasn't really small, when I had to replace my old one. I could have torn out cabinets but didn't really want to do that. They changed refrigerator sizes since 2004 which is when I have heard my kitchen was re-done (prior owners).

With just me I think I can manage now with a 7 cu ft chest freezer. I didn't want a huge one and like uprights better but didn't want to spend the extra $$$. My ancient freezer died as has my back up frig. I have been wasting food as it's so hard to cook for 1. Prep cooking today during the football game--I'm off to grocery shop in the pouring rain.

Yeah, now you have to measure carefully before buying a refrigerator; their sizes vary so much.

Good job on getting organized. That's a job, but you sound like you've done this before. 👍

YUP back on plan: Grocery shopping done and am working on re-stocking nuts, grains, herbs etc. Nuts were on sale a good stock up day for those. Some meals will get packed into the freezer, labeled well, and ready for quick meals later. I need to read the directions on how to use my new vacuum food sealer, came today. I used to have one and loved it. An Indian eggplant, mushroom, garbanzo bean and potato stew made: Mayo-Coba beans done: whole oats cooked: 7 bean soup/stew done: brown rice cooked: and that pork roast is in the Instant Pot (under pressure though). Now to finish the clean up. 5:30 will have some of that Indian stew for dinner. Took a break for a min.

I got the smallest french door/freezer on bottom available. Still had to take out the overhead cabinet (which i never used) but it fit through the door! I love it so much.

Jen, I would have had to take out the overhead cabinets to fit a taller one also. 2 of my daughters have that style and love it! I decided that was not something I wanted to do unless I really had to.
