thomas rutherford's Journal, 29 Sep 17

At last I have gone under 100kg , l am noticing the subtle changes within my body, I will be reassessing the next phase over the coming week. I believe l can increase my loss by eating more. I can hear you all GASP and SHOUT how can you lose more weight by eating more ? Well let me explain; for my body just to function healthily l require 2037 calories per day, now if l exercise at a high rate (which l do) l need to increase my calorie intake to fuel my body so that I can do that. This takes my daily food intake up to 3162 calories. I am sure this figure sounds very high to most of the group who maybe on different types of diet or have medical conditions that require a different intake. I am only explaining what I am doing. With this magical figure of 3162 which is obtained from the my BASAL METABOLIC RATE multiplied by my level of activity HARRIS BENEDICT FORMULA (2039.87 x 1.55 = 3162 calories) these are the calories l need to consume just to function normally and exercise the way l do. Now this is the bit l struggle with !!!!! Lol and l am sure it's going to get you thinking as well lol after consuming this 3162 calories l now have to eat my normal daily meals which could be another 1000 calories plus taking my food intake to 4162 calories plus. lol these are heady figures l know but the point l badly making is l am eating those kind of calories and l am exercising hard and I am loosing weight !!!! For those who use the food tracker within this app you will know how hard it is to get every block filled in your daily chart and more importantly the quantity of food you have to eat to achieve it. That's always been the part l have trouble with. Eating enough to lose weight. !!!!! The bottom line is for me to lose weight faster l have to eat more !!!! This always seems to go against the grain because we are told that to lose weight we must eat less so which one is ?????? My sister has always said to me that I am not eating anywhere near enough for me to see large changes and till I sort it out l will probably only see small losses. I would love to hear what you guys think about this. I hope that l have explained it clear enough for you to understand what l am talking about lol ok guys that's me updated my journal and what a long winded/rambling account it has been lol l think it's an age thing and No doubt it will get worse 🤔🤔🤔🤔 l hope you are all well and in good health, take care of yourselves. Bye for now.

As I understood it you will need to intake 3162 cals per day to stay at your current weight with your current exercise. If you want to lose weight you should consume less than 3162 cals or exercise more. I was consuming 1700 - 2000 cals per day for much of my diet when I started at 105 kg and lost weight pretty quickly. Feel free to look at my data -Myself I haven't found logging food too much of a chore.

Well done for the Wright loss. However you can only lose weight by creating a deficit between calorie intake and calories used. Be careful not to over think. Eat balanced diet and slightly less than your body needs. Weight loss is s feeling not a calculation. 🙂
