Hi guys, did my weight in today and like or for that fact ALL OF US l didn't see the kind of loss I was expecting lol now does that not sound familiar lol yep it was only a pound or so. I have been exercising a lot and eating much better so why the small change. I just had to get to the bottom of it, l dug out the body stats print out l had done at the beginning and went to the gym and got them to do another one. Well it's interesting reading to say the least. It would seem that l am losing body fat but at the same time I am putting on muscle and they are cancelling each other out. The girls at the gym who are very knowledgable on all things gym/body/exercise explained it to me, I have been told to carry on doing what I am doing for a while yet, they said that I will know when to adjust things because the figures will change quickly. They also said that l should go more with body measurements, the scales tell you overall weight and the tape measure tells you what area you are losing it, my back/chest/belly are my problem areas, l am blessed with great legs and butt due to cycling and my arms and shoulders are good to because of wrestling my mountain bike around on the trails. So all in all a mixed day, like bittersweet !!!! On a different note I slept like a log last night lol that's a rare occurrence I can tell you, my sister says l have to much energy and don't switch off lol l tell her if l got all this energy and busy mind then why am I not a skinny runt instead of being a overweight old sod lol l know she didn't have an answer for that. Well it's a rest day, weather is crap anyway so it's feet up with a mug of coffee listening to music and just chilling, l have done what shopping l needed so l have filled my activity tracker on my watch, it's showing 128% and it's only half way through the day, so even though I am on a rest day I am still burning calories "result" l will have a chicken salad for my lunch and use up the leftovers from last nights meal with fruit between. So that's my day planned out. I hope that you are all in good health and for the few that have been ill or in hospital take care of yourselves and get well soon. Catch you guys later bye for now.

Yes, measurements are a better way of seeing if you've lost weight.

I am having a great day thanks Camelle, l expect others have had a shock or been disappointed when they glance down at the dreaded scales, l have everything crossed and hope that the scale gods are going to be kind to me, l still must be upsetting them because it's taking a long time for to see a bit loss lol it just goes to show that we sometimes jump to the wrong conclusion and get ourselves upset when in reality it's ok just the body playing tricks with us. Am breaking out in a cold sweat every time I pass my scales in the bathroom- due for weigh in on Sunday. Have been religiously faithful to my 5:2 plan, only the first week nearly done but am dreading the disappointment I fear is coming my way!! Tape measure it may have to be.

I've found sometimes the scale appears stuck but my shape is definitely changing You have the mindset..carry on, you're making great progress towards a healthier you 👍👍

Well, fact is muscles weighs more than fat! So when growing muscles, one might even see a weight gain, which migh feel a bit dis heartening, especially when one feels oneself have been doing so well foodwise. The bonus is that more muscles burn more calories, so in the run of it, it's a win win... keep it up, keep going and remember the scales doesn't always tell the whole picture.

you can't always have a big weight loss. little by little gets you there....... am I saying that to you or myself. Not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in.

Keep your chin up and don't let the weight plateau get to you. The weight will drop and, for sure, your measurements will continue to improve
