My weight is coming off more slowly now - And after two weeks i'm not convinced that the low carb bit has sped the weight loss up much. That said I'm feeling so good and not at all hungry. I am hesitant to change whats working. Going to the next level on LCHF i.e. below 30g carbs a day might speed up losses , is going to mean a change of food stuffs and I think a blood test kit would be very helpful. Trouble is my wife would probably hit the roof if she saw it. Decisions decisions. But should I consider IF before reducing carbs from 50g to 30g? advice welcome.

Todays adventures - Visit my mother and take her shopping start write up a H&S program for a plasterer and order some wood for some posh raised beds that I am making for a neighbour (she saw ours and asked where they came from)

It's misty in Oxfordshire and the sun is trying to break through. Have a great day all.

If you get hangry (angry when hungry) then IF is not for you. I am attempting an 18:6 regime (starting today) but fasting is different for men and women. As for carbs I am afraid the lower the better. You may regret the words "advice welcome" I would drop carbs first for 4 weeks (no beer buddy..as I have said before it is liquid bread!) and then try IF. BUT if you cannot forego beer then do IF.

It's still a loss. I have tried going lower carbs and managed 50, but I found it hard work! When I stick to 1500 calories and under 100 carbs, I am still having a steady loss. As for IF, I really don't think I could do it. I don't eat after 6pm and sometimes wait till lunch before I eat, that's about the best I can do 🙂 I have heard some positives results with IF, so maybe it could work for you

I find IF fairly easy on 16:8. I eat twice a day, skipping breakfast apart from a coffee with double cream, eating at some point between 11:30 and 13:00 (there's more chance of no queue for a microwave at 11:30 if something needs reheating) then finishing dinner no later than 20:00. I find I don't snack in general. Cutting carbs again is quite easy but aiming for sub-20g net I'm finding I'm missing some veg I love such as root veg (I can take or leave fruit). It's hard keeping fibre up too so I use ground psyllium husks to boost my fibre intake. FFBB is right about 'hangry' though - if you get grumpy like my OH if you don't eat by 10:30 latest, daily IF may not be for you (although if you ask him, I'm grumpy whether I eat or not - he's such a fibber!😇). I started IF then reduced carbs but that doesn't mean it's the best way, just that it worked for me. Give it a go for a few days and see how it suits you. All the best!
