Thanks Suzy. I have just been for a 5.5 mile cycle (35 minutes), arriving home knackered. My Fitbit tells me I used 5 calories a minute. FS says you use that grocery shopping! I have also completed 19 of my 20 flights of stairs today. I have been up and down the 48 stairs loads this morning, doing a washing.

a temporary blip, I am sure! Going up and down stairs is a great workout.

I try and run the stairs. but today, with arms full of washing, it was just a plod. Our flat is Duplex, so I get the internal stair as well.

In my experience, one will go up on LCHF with a bigger intake of carbs, so the potato in the fish pie will temporarily make your weight appear more because of the whole glycogen stores and water thing. It's very short lived, and not about your body fat composition. Stay on the level and it will go easily enough. I think you will do very well on LCHF as a regime.

Oh, I posted but it can't have saved (user error no doubt 😳). Basically I said if you're like me, salt makes you hang onto water and it looks like you had quite a lot yesterday which suggests this is just a blip. Have a great Easter, Jocko!

Thanks. You posted it on the entry where I said what I had eaten.

We all fluctuate day to day, I am sure you will be back down again in a few days. I can have up to 4lb difference in a week, but on average I am maintaining a steady weight.

Because I only weigh myself on a Friday morning it is a disappointment when it goes up. I now have to wait a week to see if it was a blip, a trend, or what.

Are you watching calories as well, or only carbs?
25 Mar 16 by member: heidij123
Yes I do watch the calories. My FS RDI is 2000 and for the week I have averaged 1865. I did have one day at 2303 but even that was well under what I expended. I weighed myself this morning, just as a check, and I was back down by a pound. My scales only display the nearest pound, so you can be 1.4 and it says 1, 1.5 and it is 2.

That's excellent! I should have known by now what the answer to my question was going to be! So basically the gain was pretty much water 😀😀😀

I hope it was only water!

Just back from my pub lunch. Had a good, low carb, lunch, Then spoiled it with two pints of Best.

I'm just trying to work out how beer spoils a nice meal in a pub. It sounds very fitting to me!

It does, Heidi. But it added 35 gms of Carbs to an otherwise Carb free bar lunch.
