CatHerder's Journal, 10 Jan 16

A slight increase but not unexpected. I have been creatine loading and got in 4 good heavy weightlifting sessions in last week. My glutes are still sore from leg day Friday. I'm lifting at close to the heaviest I have in a long time.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Hi, Herder. Good work on the lifting. I'm just closing in on squatting over my body weight. I'm hoping it will happen tomorrow. Pretty sure it will happen. "Fight frog butt!"

how do you take you creatine? I do mine in a pre work out stack with beta alanine. do you know if there are other options.. should we take it any other way or just as a pre work out? Ive seen a gain too but brushing it off as holiday madness hehe

Hi Northern. I do my sqats on a machine. The bar hurts my neck. I think I need to invest in a pad and carry it with me.

Good job w/ the workouts. Gains from that are a good thing.

Hi Red. I just mix it in with my pre-workout or bcaas. It doesn't dissolve well so it needs to stirred before each gulp. I have capped some for my wife as she doesn't like the grittiness.

Herder. Most people hold the bar too foward toward their neck. It needs to seat on the back of your shoulders. The bar bothers me a bit even there, but it doesn't hurt my neck. I do, however, wear a hoodie while I'm doing squats and the doubled hood is enough to keep me comfortable.

@Northernmuscleman :) I've been trying, but can't resist askin'...What is frog butt?

Northern, I should say it hurts my spine, it's lower than the neck. I need some back muscles.

Light deadlifts, Herder. @Scalewatcher. Classicrocker taught me about what frogbutt is. It's a big belly with no butt meat at all. Can I say that here? :D

Creatine can be taken at any time of day, it has no added benefit taking it before a workout. What does help absorption is to take it with juice our other sugars to promote an insulin spike..... Better but not necessary.
