I had my wife do a 7-site skin fold measurement on me for a bodyfat baseline for the year. It says I'm about 18.5% bodyfat. My goal for the year it drop below 13%.
Here's to a great new year!

Wow -- You're already in a pretty healthy BF% range and your goal is ambitious, but given your progress/success to date, I've not date you'll reach it! Makes me think I need to 'readjust' some of my own aims . . .

Good luck with reaching >13%. It is amazing how far you have come. It is like you are growing younger!

Losinit. I'm with you on the 'don't post before coffee' theme. Herder. i'm shooting for 15% by the end of March or April and then staying there or below from that point forward. I've given up the idea of 'bulking' without steroid use, and I will not go to steroid use.

Northern, have you thought about trying a recomp using calorie cycling?

That's essentially what I'm trying during the loss. Once at 15% I will likely cycle calories to the lifting days and cut on the no lifting days. I think the calipers will become more important to me than the scale. That should be a much more stable indication. If I gain a couple pounds and see the bf go up, I will likely do a quick cut of the fat and then get back on.

WOW - that is great to be at 18.5% - nice work!
|
HCB, that's about half of where I was at when I started.

I'm aiming for 19% by Spring clothing season (I'm at 22% now, which is fine for females, but less is more where fat is concerned, IMO). Thirteen percent or less sounds like a great goal, CatHerder. What steps are you taking to achieve this goal?

That sounds like a tough goal! Good luck!

@soonsoonsoon, I have increased my protein and upped my weightlifting. I'm staying with a small caloric deficit since it's more important for me to maintain LBM than just lose weight. I'll adjust periodically as needed throughout the year.
