CatHerder's Journal, 02 Oct 15

I went ahead and signed up for my first half marathon. It's in March so I have time to train. It's going to be a tough run through downtown Chattanooga as there are some hills. So now I have my goal. I need to come up with a training plan. That will include what I want to do with my diet.

I've still been working out. It is getting tougher this week. Just feel fatigued and hungry. I'm ready for my week off.

My numbers for September. I have lost about 4 lbs of fat and my LBM has stayed consistent. That means it's taking me about 5500 cals deficit/ lb lost.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Great job with your fat loss. I've seen mentioned in several places that it may take more than the assumed ~3600 calories to burn a pound of fat. I would have to agree with that, for me it seems like double that number. Anyway, losing the fat while maintaining your muscle mass is an achievement. Wishing you great success training for the half-marathon.

@CatHerder I have no words of advice, because a detest running. I will, however, cheer you on from here.

Half marathon? You can do that? I'm in. I'm starting from the middle. That way I've got a chance of winning!

Lol at Scalewatcher! Well done for entering CH, that will give you lots of motivation in the coming months! Well done on your fat loss too. I'm also currently trying to work out how many calories make a pound of fat lost. I wonder whether the values that FS assigns to various forms of exercise are too high?

@heidij123. I probably should not have posted that because I don't know him, but I did laugh at myself. Hopefully, he won't be offended. I really hope the exercise values are correct.

Hmmm...I felt tired this week and hungry, too. Weather changes?

Yes, I think cooler weather is making me feel hungry, and a bit achy! Both are putting me off exercising, but once I've persuaded myself to get outside, it's great! We've had sunshine, with a cool breeze. The light is terrific. But I have to get out earlier, else it gets dark on me!

Could be. I've felt the same way today. I couldn't ride my bike because of the constant rain from Hurricane J. Today I've even had slight bags under my eyes...what a drag.
