izzypup68's Journal, 18 Aug 15

Oh, happy day! I have been doing nothing differently this week, but the scale has decided to get with the program. I am just a shade away from my goal!!!

My Y posts lists each month to show who has been the most consistent in exercising, who are the kings and queens of cardio, and the folks who have lifted the most. Honestly, I never paid much attention to those list until yesterday. One of the trainers stopped me to congratulate me. I had made it onto the front page of the Strongest Women list (#15!), even beating her. :) And, that list was for July, not August in which I am working on my strength challenge. Yesterday I passed the 200,000 mark on my way to lifting a quarter million pounds for the month.

I have still been working out the kinks in our back to school schedule. I had finally gotten the hang of summer and now there are kids to wake up and lunches to pack and carpools to drive. Rather than getting up early and heading to the gym, I have decided I just need to take the dog out for a spin before getting the kids up. Since I have become accustomed to being active first thing, I hope to keep that going. The pup is all for this plan. After getting the kids to school, I try to get right to the gym, although things have been coming up this week and sometimes that doesn't happen right away. Once I catch up on some of the things on my to do list, hopefully, the routine will fall into place.

I am taking a short trip this weekend, going to see my brother for his 40th birthday. I am looking forward to seeing the whole family. I will have to pay attention to what I eat and drink, of course, but I am going to first and foremost concentrate on enjoying the people I love. I believe I will be able to do both. :)

Have a great day, my friends.

OMG -- If I'm being honest, I'm torn b/w being happy for you and being a bit jealous!! How great it must feel to not only be so close to your goal, but also to be 'assimilating' this healthy lifestyle into your daily living for the long term -- I like putting the pup first!! :) And LOVE your approach/attitude to the upcoming family gathering and celebration! Kudos and an 'I'm not worthy' bow to your success!!

Congrats Izzy!!! Sounds like a good plan for school mornings, at least until it gets dark and cold in the am's.
