Adpully's Journal, 20 Oct 21

Five days of renewed focus limiting myself to just one large slice of cake a day and a daily deficit of circa 700 calories seems to have helped and some weight has shifted. It's been quite tough like starting all over again and I have been continually hungry.

The single large slice of cake tastes fantastic however it contributes over 100g of carbs. My daily protein percentage is averaging 16%. I think today I will try a mini experiment and I have pre populated todays somewhat notional food diary that contains no cake and 24% of protein. I will try and maintain the same 700 calorie deficit to see If this large shift in nutrients affects how I hungry I actually feel? I have my fingers crossed that I actually have the willpower for this.

The image below is the apple cake I am hoping to avoid eating plus for a change I have added a ditty that made me laugh.

Have a great day all of you marvellous FSers.

I couldn’t resist that cake!

Well I'm still resisting it after 8 hours of it sitting on the kitchen worktop. Claire will be having some though at cake o'clock (3PM). I may be feeling slightly less hungry at this moment than yesterday but there's not much in it. Todays nutrients so far 67g of Carbs and 47g of protein, yesterday it was 176g and 28g respectively. Quite a a swing.

definitely cut down on the carbs and sugary stuff n up your protein! Hard work resisting the cake though.. well done.. I'd stop making/ buying cake for a while though.. easier to resist if there is none in!

I would ideally stop them being made but my wife makes them and she loves doing it. She totally fails to understand why having a cake or ten around is a problem for me because It's not for her. Similarly when trying to cut down on beer wine and cigarettes etc she likes to have stuff in the cupboard, just in case. 44 years we have been married. I'm never going to get used to it this different way of thinking.
