My body said “no thanks” to my ‘eating 250 calories less’ experiment yesterday. I carefully planned appropriate foods and timing to keep me full on less. I thought I had made it, but at bedtime I was so hungry I couldn’t sleep, so I got up and ate half a Kit Kat (105 cal) and was still hangry until it started to digest. So I have determined that I can eat a little less but that 250 (calculated to lose 1/2 lb a week) is too much considering I already don’t eat a ton compared to many of you. Losing those least few lbs will have to come somewhat from exercise. Thank you @rickstewart for bringing that up. Exercise is my preference anyway but I would have to change my schedule a bit to allow for more & I may not do that right away. I already do about 3 days of running plus two days of strength training. I’ve been trying to do more walks, hikes, bike rides, too, which I do sometimes… but i don’t want to overdo exercise/diet to where I’m sacrificing other parts of my life just to meet a certain ideal of perfection I hold when I’m a healthy weight already & my fiancé of course loves me the way I am anyway. Alright, thanks for listening to me ramble. Have a happy and healthy day, FS friends.

Yes, we need to combine the proper diet along with exercise to get the best.

Those last few pounds are hard to lose for sure. We are close to same weight and it took me forever to lose the last few lbs! Now in maintenance phase I find it difficult to stay at 132. Best of luck to you!💪👍👍

@diana1234 how did you finally lose the last few lbs? The funny thing is that the first time I lost this weight I breezed on past my goal easily. More than a decade later, I’m finding that my body is different and I see what people mean when they talk about those last few lbs.

I think the key is keep on doing it. The last few lbs may not go away but you keep on going. Life will get busy and slow down the ebb and flow of life. Keep up the good habits! And half a KitKat!? That is some great self control. I’d have gone through at least two….

Thanks @daddymanatee! Fortunately there was only half a kit kat in the house. I trained myself to be satisfied on less desert years ago after I read a book on dieting like the French. I am not always as good with other foods and drinks :)

I think occasionally fasting, isn't a bad thing. I do intermittent fasting twice a week, but if I do it too much, my body goes into starvation mode and stores fat. I would bump up your calories just a bit and small meals throughout the day. You do you, but it was just a thought that helped me.

Thank you @jstrong! I am a bit afraid of intermittent fasting. I believe that it works for other people but am skeptical for myself. Willing to keep an open mind though. I do eat 4 times a day but could maybe do more. Appreciate your thoughts.

@jstrong about the bumping my calories up a small bit, might do that too. Cutting them definitely did not work for me
