SamTheManWithAWeightLossPlan's Journal, 08 Jun 20

Hello everyone! I'm Sam, a 24 year old guy from Finchley, London.

I've been scrolling through this and you all seem so friendly so thought I'd join the group!

I'm awful at social media and do not have Facebook or anything like that except this.

So here goes.

Make it a great week everyone!

Wow. I feel really welcome! I scared myself the other day because I weighed myself for the first time in AGES, knowing full well I wouldn't like the result (that might be why I didn't weigh myself for so long!) and just felt awful. Now on 1700 calories a day, doing the NHS 12 week diet and exercise plan and am counting every calorie. It is daunting and stressful but it'll be worth it (hopefully). Do you all have tips on how to cope if things go wrong? Best to all! Sam

If things go wrong, you decide, is that gonna make you stop or KEEP GOING?! It's definitely really hard staying motivated during a diet or trying to be healthier, but you need to narrow your focus and keep looking at how far you've come and how strong you are for trying to stay on track. I've messed up on diets, i can't even count. I've tried losing weight several times since i was 13, all through my teen years, but when i was 19 i decided once and for all if i wanna be mopey about how i look and feel or am i going be really body positive for once and fix my unhealthy eating habits. I've since tried to be healthy and lost so much weight, and yes i do slip and i do gain a couple kilos every now and then but i focus on how far I've come instead of letting a weekend gain let me down. Plus, i know if i fix my eating habits after a holiday i can lose the weight in no time.

I know I'm rambling here but I really wanna share whatever i know that could help. One healthy meal won't have you lose weight just like one unhealthy meal wont make you fat. Being healthy and losing weight will have its share of setbacks, but it's how you react to these setbacks that will really make or break it. If a certain thing doesn't work, try something else, read about healthy and mindful eating, ESPECIALLY read about the mental aspect of eating healthy and losing weight in general. Also, don't take things too seriously, at the end of the day it's your peace of mind that matters the fucking most🌻

Hey Sammy! It’s a great media community here, I’ve dipped in and out for about 4 years, lovely people, very supportive. Good luck! The 12 weeks will fly! My only tip that works for me is to calorie count, don’t go under (starvation mode, you won’t lose anything) or go too high above (pure will power!) good luck 😉
