Oh dear! Been keeping to under 1200 calories a day, but been eating the wrong types of food so my carbs have been high. My confidence has not been very good recently, following on from some snide comments from my in-laws at a family wedding and a remark from a nurse (see prev posts). It's horrible when you really really struggle for several months to loose weight, manage to lose just over a stone, which is a massive amount to me, and are starting to feel happy ... and then people make comments to your face that really belittle what you have achieved! It's made me feel like "is it really worth the effort if no-one notices or praises me for it?!" Also I've had a stinking cold and sinusitis and a bad back for the last couple of weeks, so comfort foods have been the order of the day.
Anyway, on the positive side, I am still in the 19stones (just) and I do feel a bit better today .... so gotta force myself to cut out the carbs again and try to feel good about myself again. Onwards and downwards (weightwise that is).

Carrie I think you should look into the food you are eating a bit more, as it would be very unlikely to gain this weight if you were eating under 1200kcal even if they are high in carbs! I eat around 1600-1800 a day and mostly high carbs food, wrigh 90kgs and keep loosing weight. carbs are blamed this days for too much... maybe you have an underlying medical condition or retaining water?

Well I did have an underactive thyroid which I used to be on medication for up until a few years ago, but then my old Dr said it had become borderline and so he stopped my medication. He also told me I was retaining water but said he wasn't allowed to prescribe me diuretics as I haven't got a heart problem!! He has since retired and my new dr hasn't said anything. ...... Maybe I ought to go and see a different doctor!

Some people will always say stupid things. Don't do this for them. Do this for you :) You are the only person you will always have to live with!

you can do it! I was nearing on the 18stone mark. it'll take it's time, just plan your food til your eyeballs fall out. it's such a routine to me now, I don't even count, I can estimate so easily

If you’ve got a new doctor you need to speak to him anyway and just bring up any worries you have and suggestions about losing weight good luck
