I think 800 is not realistic. All the best, think about how you will feel when you reach your goal, it's a great feeling.

800 is so low they normally recommend that for 2 weeks before weight loss surgery to shrink liver. definitely not for long term. 1200 much more realistic

I know the feeling. I have been told I need to shed 5 stone by September. I’m doing the 8 week blood sugar diet which is 800 calories a day. It’s almost impossible!

It’s not too bad ! I had a poached egg with a rice cake for brekkie, then a cup of butternut squash soup for lunch and then quorn cottage pie for dinner with a fruit cup as a snack and stalks of celery it’s doable !

The reality often hits you hard, but don't despair as you see the weight come off it really does give you a boost. Knowing that there are others here fighting the good fight hopefully will help you on your journey. I personally really suffer with bad knees, if I wasn't so heavy my consultant would have replaced them already.
You are not alone :-)

I did Michael Moseley 8 weeks fasting diet for 5 weeks and first 2 days were the hardest. weight dropped off. it's very similar to ketogenic. you can do this 👍

All the best with your goal. Make sure you only eat slow release carbohydrates such as whole wheat bread (the oats you had yesterday were about 15% sugar!) and top up on leafy green veg. Scrutinise the labels of foods you're buying and avoid much of anything that's heavily processed or has added sugar or ingredients you wouldn't add if you were making it yourself. Drink plenty of water (2 - 3l a day isn't too much) and always have a glass or two if you're feeling hungry just in case you're actually just thirsty. There's loads of people in your position who are being successful on a variety of different ways of eating so reach out for support. Finally, instead of thinking "I'll just have that biscuit (or five) as I'm so hungry" think "if I have that biscuit will I be nearer the wheelchair". A lot of weight loss is based in your mind and what you let yourself do. Once again, all the very best - it's hard but it's not impossible.

Try 16:8 intermittent fasting, during 8 hour window you can eat without calorie counting, though works best by limiting sugar and refined carbs. Indulge in fats instead.

All the best with your goal. There's plenty here that understand your plight. Good days and bad, just keep plugging away - it's better than ignoring the problem and steadily gaining. x

What doctor told you that you would be in a wheelchair in 10 years and thinks that you eating an 800 calorie diet is a way out of this? Work out your calories aloud per day and hit between 10%-15% under it a day, no re feed day just constant calorie deficit.

Thanks everyone 💗
The 800 calories is a diabetic blood sugar diet ( I’m type 2 diabetic) but it’s just too difficult for me. The 1200 a day is much more doable .
I have lost 12 lbs in the last few weeks so I’m very happy with that :-)

I recommend you read Jason Fung The Obesity Code or look him up on YouTube. Fasting is your friend here.
