Maxie, kinda like a stew, Moroccan cuisine. Lots of things in it, ground almonds, honey, saffron, fish stock, ginger, chilli, garlic, onion, orange juice, tomatoes.....

Howardsends, it was haddock. I wanted cod but it's pricey. And I don't think it made any difference which with all the flavouring.

Yasmine15585 Agreed, price would be unlikely to affect the flavour! I'd even try Basa with this. I've done chicken and lemon tagine but not tried making a fish one yet :)

Howardsends, yes! I just wanted a thick fillet. Jacshadow, you're sweet. It was fun and tasty, but a little expensive with the saffron.

Yasmin, try finding a Russian or Mediterranean market in your area, the ones in mine at least sell saffron much less expensively then at normal grocery stores because Georgia (in Russia) is a major source of saffron and it is used in many Mediterranean dishes. The other varieties of saffron aren’t as inexpensive, but still cost less than at US grocery stores most times. 🤷🏻‍♀️Sometimes buying unusual spices at small shops like that is much less expensive. I also get my rose water and orange water there. 🙋🏻
