wholefoodnut's Journal, 15 Dec 17

WOW!! Its been over a month. My world has not been the best as battling daily migraines. Investigating the cause with my doc as they started with the bronchitis in OCT., neck is very sore with still swollen glands as well, the headaches seem to be related. A soft tissue neck ultra sound this week so waiting on the results.

I'm not exercising and not eating right thanks to the headaches, so feel fat and out of shape.

Have a few days off so catching up on Christmas shopping etc. Tomorrow will be warmer so will work on cleaning the garage and some outside fall chores that I didn't get accomplished and Sunday some prep for the next week. Hope the migraines co-operate.

Migraines are the worst... I hope you have been able to pin point what is causing then and any additional aggravating factors

Thanks all for your support. I am taking magnesium. =We will figure it out, just may take some time. Today was a pretty good day. Managed to get most of the garage straightened out am trying to get it so I can get my car in before any snow and some fall clean up done outside. Lots of breaks but thankfully headache mostly stayed away. only mild. Hoping the forecast for tomorrow is wrong as they are predicting cold. Christmas shopping is done except for picking up one gift as the manager told me to wait as they go on 50% off on Monday.

Hi about your migraines Bunny gets off and regularly along with some mild ones in between we thought it was job related but now that she's retired I don't think she gets them as much she's tried many meds in the past but she has a script for this med called Amedtrix "don't quote me on the spelling and it really works for her.

Murfthe surf, thanks. I'm hoping not to go back to the migraine meds, might have to though. I've been off of them for 7 years. If we can find the trigger and fix the trigger it would be better. If nothing shows on the ultra sound it will mean more intensive tests with my stiff/sore neck and swollen glands--they seem to be tied to the migraines. I've been keeping a journal and that is what it is telling me so far.

Sounds like you are doing it right with the journal! 🙋🏻‍♀️ But you know as well as I do that migraines, far from being ‘just a headache’ are a disorder of the central nervous system and sometimes, yes, a lack of magnesium can exacerbate the condition of the nerve’s response, and yes, sometimes a triggering event or condition will set off the nerves somewhere in your body so you may be able to avoid that trigger sometimes. 🤷🏻‍♀️But don’t fall into the trap of thinking the trigger is the cause. I get migraines from pressure changes on the barometer. The cause of the migraines is still the nervous system. And I can’t avoid changes to the barometer, or light, or people’s perfume, smoke, dryer sheets, deodorant...LOL The magnesium can make your nerves a little more bulletproof, things like nerve blocks and Botox just turn off specific nerves that seem to cause people the most pain. (Sorry if I’m preaching to the choir here.) You can buy Ionic liquid magnesium or spray on magnesium that is almost fully absorbed on Amazon.🙋🏻‍♀️
