bowd65's Journal, 21 Mar 17

Not feeling my best at the moment and I have two night shifts this week (Weds and Thurs) and two next week (Mon and Tues). I am going to find them hard as I haven't worked a night shift since April last year. They always completely mess my body up, but i am hoping after these two weeks are done I won't have any for a couple of months.

I am also a bit concerned with my dog Mishka, she is lame in her left hind leg after she had a run on Friday. We took her to the vets yesterday and next Monday she is having an xray under sedation. I just hope it's nothing serious, i think she already has a bit of arthritis starting in her joints. So at the moment it is short walks and no off lead time.

This week I have a couple of meals out starting tomorrow with a friend out to lunch for her birthday. Then on Saturday evening, me and DH are meeting up with friends. I also completely forgot about mothers day, so rather than trying to get in anywhere now, my son is going to cook a meal on Sunday. I am still going to try and make healthy choices, but whether i will have any more loss this week remains to be seen.

Hope you have a great week Buddies!

Hope your dog is OK. Its horrible when our wee pals don't feel well. My one is snoozing at my feet. Half an eye open for treats!

Hopefully your dog's leg will just be something like a pulled muscle. With some rest it may heal up. Happened to my cat once. Vet thought it was arthritis but it soon got better. Fingers crossed for her anyway. Enjoy all your meals. Sometimes our weight has to stall for a bit if we want to enjoy ourselves with friends and family. Good luck with your night shift.

Like Doobrie says, I hope it's just a wee strain or something. Best to check and be sure, though. Good luck with the night shifts! I'm not sure I could manage them

Night shifts take getting used to. I can see how it would mess up the natural rhythm of things. My female will strain a muscle after a vigorous run, too. She will limp a little while and then after resting up, the limp is gone. I suspect she has some arthritis going on, too.

Good luck with the night shifts. Must be really disrupting, not just working the shifts themselves but then adjusting back to a normal routine afterwards. I hate shifting the clock by one hour in the autumn, so a whole night of working must be very difficult. Hope Mishka gets better. One of our dogs occasionally has a similar injury and he carried his leg differently for a few days. Sometimes I think he does it because he's expecting it to hurt, not that it really does. Hope you enjoy your mother's day pampering and don't have to do the washing-up afterwards!

Thanks buddies, i am looking forward to my lunch out tomorrow. But not the first night shift later. I find it so hard to sleep during the day and i am constantly in and out of bed 😣 Mishka is still not putting any weight on her leg yet and doesn't seem her usual self. We have her on metacam for pain now, so hopefully the inflammation should settle down soon.

My dog loved Metacam - we used to call it Magic Milk as she had it in a bit of milk and she'd come ask for it when it was time. Mind you, when she was switched to Tramadol as her guts were bad, she soon learned that tablets got wrapped in a slice of wafer-thin ham. I hope Mishima is feeling better soon 🤗
