Maria Richards's Journal, 19 Nov 16

What a lousy night I had last night! Slept sitting upright between two armchairs wrapped in a duvet on doctors orders!

I have recently had another acute episode of positional vertigo and been prescribed different tablets to try and "knock it on the head" - pun intended! Plus I am supposed to try and sleep sitting upright - some chance of that! Didn't get a wink and tablets are meant to make me drowsy. Not sure what I'm going to do tonight :(

On the plus side hubby and I managed a two hour walk this afternoon, dodging the showers - just!! :)

How horrid for you, my boss has had something similar recently. May I make a suggestion - position two pillows/cushions either side of your head so you don't crick your neck. A travel pillow can achieve this but with less comfort. Also a cushion in the small of your back will make you lean back a little and will make you sleep in a slightly more natural position. I hope you have a better night tonight hon x

Not again mate! The doctors really ought to do loads of tests to try and find out what's causing this problem once and for all and put it right! Hope you get a better night tonight xx

I have had all the tests, scans etc and anything nasty has been ruled out. I get positional vertigo and it flares up from time to time. The latest tablets seem a lot better, and if they aren't successful I have to go see the doc as there are others we can try. Last night in the armchairs was a slight improvement (tried the cushion STrout!) think I actually dozed off a bit, but confess I crept back into bed at 6.30am! Gonna take the tablets again today and see how things go. At the mo, fingers crossed, no symptoms!!! :)
