I tried a new thing today. I have started making my salad into a stir fry now the weather is colder, done it for a week or two and it's great. I don't add cucumber. There is something intrinsically odd about cooked cucumber - well, to me there is anyway.

It's ok as I shouldn't be eating cucumber at this time of year. But there were some in the grade out section and surely it's better to eat them than have them go for compost? Is it? I dunno. Anyway I got some. Not having salad and, let's face it, grade out needs using pdq so I cut it into 1/2" chunks and tossed it into the breakfast stir fry. After all, its just posh wet courgette really.

It was lovely and I will happily repeat it whenever I have cucumber around and make stir fry. Which, let's face it, is most days ATM.

So, another wet day here in Wales, makes the 58th day of rain on the trot. I know! As we say - it's BEYOND! But we live on a hill so although there is a depth of water on the fields it is running off the saturated ground to the river below us, which when the rain stops we can hear as a thundering roar. Funny how the rain makes such a lot of noise we can't hear the planes going over, and the low flight fighters ones don't even bother to come out to play -one wouldn't want to get them wet after all. I suppose there are some benefits....

Hope the rain stops soon, it gets depressing after a while. Put cucumber in just shortly before it's done, so it just warns through. I used to put it in sweet and sour. Stays crunchy and yummy 😀 Do you know, I had forgotten that! Thank you for accidentally reminding me!
