We can't always be at the top of our game. But we can be again if we stay in the game 💪

adpreso, I do agree with you. My weight loss journey chart 📉 looks the same : up, down, and up again, and down again. If really to tell the truth, it is only with my illness right now that my weight is going down ( this happened the first time in years ). But I am sure for 100% as soon as I get well and will start to eat properly, my weight will go up again.

Glad you liked it, Yelena. I see weight management and fitness as a lifetime endeavour therefore there will be ups and downs. Its not success or failure, its participation. Keep playing 🙂

Fingers crossed you can keep it down. I had that happen years ago and I managed to keep it down for ages, then life’s challenges got in the way and I lost control, confidence and ended up worse that square one. But making new changes which I hope will help 😁

That is a weight gain journey, isn't it? Weight loss is when the numbers decline. I see a decline in 2021, then a rise, and then rising and then yoyo weight changes. Drink ice cold water between meals and move around more. Eat filling foods with fewer calories.

Or to put it another way, Ads weighs less now than he did 7 years ago!

Weight gain or weight loss journey it can be called what ever anyone wants. Unfortunately this is my journey which has had many challenges over the years, Which have had an effect on how I eat and exercise but i haven’t given up. That’s the aim of this post is to show the reality of life and weight management and not to give up and to keep trying.

Anne, Kat I’m also looking at it as how much heavier could I have been if I wasn’t trying and what health problems i might have.

my other favorite mantra is “Here we are, where do we go?” I am sitting at my desk with a TENS on my shoulder at the moment, still, we move forward only. 😝 I’m also an idiot at times. I’ve accepted that.

I think the sooner we accept that the easier life is 😂

Mitigating weight gain can be a start. It takes awhile to get on the right path. I’m sure you gained it slower than if you weren’t trying. You probably have set the tone to lose instead of gaining with mechanical habits already there despite the surplus, with better habits in some areas, even if you haven’t put them into action all at once. Then, once you put them all into action at once, as in good habits you had at different times, you will be in a deficit. You are not alone. I lost 30 pounds and gained 15 back. Some of my habits when I lost 30, were sustainable, but others were emotional crutches, so I will learn again. It happens!

Your right, i know how to do it and it’s just trying to keep focused and make those changes last and not take the easy options.

Weight is also not the only marker. When I was the least I’ve ever weighed at my adult height, at age 15, I was unhealthy. I was trying to eat less instead of healthier, hence losing 10 lbs since the year before. I was eating terrible things though, and skipping meals frequently, and only eating a few bites at meals sometimes to lose weight. I also drank too little water, and fell asleep in class because of my poor diet, and was told I was “too thin” even though I wasn’t, even by my doctor, just because of the context—losing weight unhealthily in just one year. Ten pounds in a year was too fast for me because I was a teenager, and because I wasn’t overweight before, and would be fine at my age now. Also, I was over-exercising. Don’t be like me, when I was younger. You have to be smart.

Laine. Diets can be unhealthy, I don’t like diets I try take small changes to my habits. A little less pasta, a slightly smaller portion, less sweets/alcohol etc. I don’t count calories but i have an idea of how many I’m eating. I using this app at the moment to keep track on my weight as it’s too high for me.
