Again an all day project and it should not have been. Had the new kitchen fixture almost installed the dang ground wire fell off the fixture. Called tech support, no way to re-attach without totally taking it apart. OK take back to store 15 miles away, forgot the light bulbs, they didn't ask for them. they will work in a downstairs fixture. No similar fixture, would have to drive another 30 miles. Ok so they took it back, picked out a different fixture a few less $$ but no bulbs included, course different bulbs.

Easy to install, can't find bulbs in a close by store something called a par 20?? Ace hardware has them for 12.99 each for 4 bulbs. NOPE!! More than $50.00 for 4 little light bulbs!! NO WAY!! 3 stores later at Walmart fount them for 3 for $9.00 at least better. That meant an hour and 35+ miles. So it's now 5pm this project started about 9am. Nothing else accomplished. WHEW!!!

LIght fixture is in and working YAY!! Now to clean up this mess.

New bird cage arrived but it's bent. So going back; will keep looking. It's actually smaller than I thought so not a bad thing.

No, just can't see paying something I can do myself. Dang a long day though, with a defective product.

Wow, extensive bulbs. Good job getting it done despite the difficulties. Most jobs seem to take me 2x the time I anticipate.

My husband knows how to do wiring and I am sure I could figure it out but BIL needs $$ so we hire him.... plus it frees us up to do the things we can/ need to do.

Yeah, JMB I always count on at least double, these dang lights were a lot more that that. OH well, they are in look good. Today's would have been easy but too much time exchanging and starting over. Then the hunt for bulbs, I miss the old ones, they were easy. Why do we have 50 different kinds of dang light bulbs??

I know what you mean about the bulbs. Every bulb we have seems to be just slightly different color. Some are "warm", some are "cool", some look like some kind of alien ship is about to land...

Alien ships LOL most of mine look that way in the new light fixtures. I have a couple burned out in my basement studio and keep forgetting to take one with me, no clue what I need. My replacement fixtures are all halogen because at least they are brighter.

I hate when that stuff happens...it can be very annoying. Glad you got it done!

Found a bird cage on Craig's list will go look at it tomorrow, it looks perfect for what I want, but photos are sometimes different that the real thing.

Snezica, it does feel good to have the lights up and the hutch moved, these have been chores hanging over me for awhile. I thought I needed help with both, I really did on the hutch as lifting the hutch and moving it was a several person job, especially the top with the mirrors and glass doors. The lights turned into one person. Now to clean up the scattered tools etc. Then go on to finishing the paint.
