Taking a break from mowing the too wet grass but it has to be done and watching the TRX workout videos. I want one. I use it at the gym some but I want one at home. Maybe I'll splurge and buy myself a birthday present. I keep entering to win one but not much hopes of being successful.

This is a later post as with the humidity am taking breaks. Am letting the sun and breeze that just stated dry the grass more as I'm to the really wet sections the mower keeps clogging up. The am shady parts of the back will have sun shortly. Will switch and do the front in a few.

I checked Amazon and found a WOSS suspension system similar to the TRX all American made for about 1/4 of the price, lots of great reviews comparing it to the TRX. I ordered it, justifying $250 with the ceiling mount was not an option but $60.00+tax including the mount and $5.00 extended warrantee is reasonable, free shipping since I'm not in a hurry 5-8 days, not bad. So YAY!! a birthday present for me. I'll be able to watch the TRX videos and use it at home, can't really do the videos at the gym.

Now as I re-do my open living room and dining room area it has to also function as a mini gym. MMM thinking to do as to furniture placement for the future before I mount the connection on my ceiling. I think the 10 foot ceiling in my upstairs will work better than the 7 foot basement one.

I so wanted to go for a run last night. I know I shouldn't due to knee and ankle issues. Was good didn't, tried jogging on my trampoline it just the same as I remember when I could run.

I love TRX - I have built a lot of strength using it.

I'm thrilled at what I found. There are several brands out there priced much lower than the TRX and do the same thing. I liked the positive reviews on this one and that it is made in the US. I didn't know until today there were other versions. I love using it at the gym but not everyday works out to be a trip there as it does use up lots of time. I also have a hard time remembering exactly how to things that I reviewed online the night before or early in the am. Having one at home I can watch the videos either on my computer or TV if they are on youtube while learning.

Kathy, I love love being outside so working in the yard is terrific sanity therapy heading into a crazy month at work beginning Monday. I love my yard looking good and hate that it is a mess. Any house chores or inside projects are on hold, the sun is out!!

I really do want to watch youtube on the trx. Just to get an idea of what they are. Think they're kind to those of us who have lousy backs?

Kathy, I have recurrent sciatic issues, a cervical 4 vertebrae fusion and a steel rod through my knee. As with any exercise you have to pick and choose what works for you. The more I investigate the different things you can do using your body as the weight I am more and more impressed. I started doing a few things after a session with a trainer at the gym and was hooked as it relieved so much stress in my upper back. I sit at a desk all day with a computer in a fairly high powered environment that demands perfection. I've added more as I've watched the videos and talked to others using it at my gym. It mostly sits idle even though it's use is included in some of the classes. The people I've talked to who use it love it! They like that it's mostly available as there is just one. If you google trx and then click on exercises it takes you to a site with several choices. I really like some of the ones on pilates workout. I've been using the first few at the gym, they feel soo good and I can feel them working muscles everywhere in my body. There are yoga ones also that I haven't tried. you can also google suspension exercises and it comes up with lots of other sites as well.

I'm so excited to order it and not pay the high price for the TRX. I almost broke down and succumbed but happy so far that I did some investigating. I'm hoping it meets what I want. I'm inside for a few as I finally made it through my back yard, all 3 of my raised beds are weeded. I need to re-mow my grass at a lower setting but some is still wet, so giving it some time. Over my 10,000 steps today so far. I still have 16,00 to go to meet the 70,000 goal.

Well, a woman after my own heart...if I had a year for every birthday and Christmas gift I have bought for myself, I would be well over 100! Think getting your machine is a great idea and most certainly something you will enjoy!

Gwen,laughing... I gave up expecting birthday presents from my kids so I buy my own...LOL. I also buy myself a Christmas present even if I do get those. I figure I deserve to get myself something I want. I do the same when I get income taxes back.

Kathy WOW on what? The TRX type systems help build up your core. A stronger core equals less back pain. BTW Gwen it is a strap suspension system not a machine. Check it out.

Guess you now know my Gym IQ!!!!!! It is zero and then some:)

My gym IQ wasn't much either; just the PT that I went through after injuries and working in a rehab PT department (mostly strokes, head injuries, and amputees), very different from a gym. I'm learning along the way. Go to the TRX or any suspension trainer site or youtube and watch some of the videos. They don't look like a lot but WOW! do they work your body. I love the decrease in the tension in my back and shoulders after sitting at a desk all day after using the one at the gym. Some of the people here were talking about them quite awhile ago and I had no idea, then discovered the gym has one.

More watching suspension training videos in between weeding. Looks like if you are handy you could build one pretty easily with more options and for less $$. I won't cancel my order as I wouldn't trust me not to go crashing with a homemade version LOL.... I think I'm spending more time on my patio than weeding, oh well, it's nice out the herb bed does look better.

did you get the heavy duty X bracket to set it up with was reading about this yeasterday when I first say your post because I had no Idea what TRX was ( not been to a gym in years).

I bought the WOSS attack system not the TRX and the ceiling mount for $9.99. The reviews seemed good and a whole lot les $$$ than the TRX. So the system was $39.99 plus the mount plus the tax and I did the free shipping as I hate to have to pay jacked up prices for shipping. I found it on amazon. Seems to be very similar and lots of good ratings and not cost $200.00. I figure the same videos apply to any suspension system. There is lots of free info out there without having to pay for pricey DVD's. I'd rather spend the $$'s on my house.

The ceiling mount is the only one that would work in my house. I certainly would not trust the door frames, maybe for a johnney jump up for a tiny kid.

I watched some of the videos and will admit that I'm intimidated. Will have to do further research and watch. Have a friend who worked up a program for me which I want to start.
