cindylynnwho's Journal, 10 Oct 22

Getting my appetite back. Had a sausage egg and cheese croissant for dinner. Half a cheddar and tomato sandwich for for lunch. A spoon of Pb for night snack. Walked about 4 miles. May go back to work soon now that I’m feeling better. Missing my fiancé and half my pets; we temporarily separated in part to increase likelihood of safe shelter after our home suffered major damage from the hurricane. I don’t know for how long we may be separated, but hopefully we can see each other soon. Fidget my youngest cat is sitting with me and says hi.

I'm so sorry your home suffered so much damage and you are separated from the ones you love. It must be horrible not being able to live at home right now. I'm glad you have your cat to help keep you company though.

Good to hear that you’re taking care of yourself. Many people have either given up or getting the post trauma take over their lives. We’re getting our clean up going. Sure some of that time we’re ready to quit, but we’re keeping our selves occupied by making jokes and reminiscing the previous storms

I'm glad you are keeping your strength up. I wish I had the words to fix this... I wish I could send someone from Habitat For Humanity to you... and this goes for PinayRN too... I wish I had more than my heart to offer. You should know, that you are thought of... individually and collectively, all Floridians... really thinking about you guys. ❤️‍🔥

Thank you less fluffy, I also have my cat daisy here, she is the most well adjusted of all 7 of us after the storm!

Thanks pinay! The post traumatic stress has been hard on us but we are still doing our best and not giving up. I’m glad you are feeling strong enough to do the same.

Thank you gwzfire, hopefully we will have an option for a rental home through either insurance or fema, but my fiancé seems too stressed right now for us to work together to get that organized so I’m okay for now until he can get some rest. My home can be rebuilt but it may take a long time. We may sell and move at that point to higher ground, we shall see

Thank you stray cat! I have lived in Florida more than 40 years and never been affected by a storm like that, not Andrew, not Charlie, not Irma. I spent more than half that time on a barrier island but I can’t even imagine being out in the keys all the time. More power to you and I am glad you are safe!
