wholefoodnut's Journal, 03 Jan 15

I splurged yesterday and added to my home exercise equipment. I bought an exercise ball for upstairs (have one downstairs) and a set of 3 kettle balls, the gym only has ones that are too heavy for me. I did a little with the 5# one last night. Hoping they will help these granny wings!!Aldi's has exercise things this week, good prices.

Saturday morning, hit the snooze alarm for awhile. I need to get moving to finish up things for the family coming around noon. Grocery stores were awful last night, weather was predicted as a possible winter mix and maybe a bit of snow today (up to an inch). Crazy people were panic shopping, packed stores, awful traffic, an hour chore took 3 hours and I was exhausted, I hate shopping in crowds!! So nothing done but the shopping. Just scattered cold rain last night so far.

A few minutes and I will get moving tis 6:00. Should be a fun afternoon with the family. Mindful eating, chili, salads, homemade bread, brownies (I gave in on a desert) I might have a small one.

WFN,I am glad to read that you added to your exercise equipment at home. It must be a morning for sleeping in, as I myself got a full 8. "Have you ever made black bean brownies?" They are awesome and the kid's can't tell the difference. Enjoy your Saturday and afternoon with the kids. You are so lucky to have them so close. Truly, Jen

It's an investment in your health, not a splurge. Didn't know Aldi had exercise equipment.

Happy New Year WFN! Wishing a year of prosperity in whatever you do! Enjoy your Saturday with family - I am having a quiet day of continued introspection and watching the snow come down outside (I must have missed the weather report ... I didn't expect it).

Jennifer, I haven't tried black bean brownies, need to try that next time I have kids here. I miss the news as well, was watching the weather for today though. New mom was worried so did not come, temps around 40 degrees, no issues just occasional mist. I was sad the cousins did not meet the new baby. We had a nice day. Kids wanted to get home before the temps drop as another front is coming in from the west. Chris, it's interesting what aldi's carries at different times of the year. I think you can find items online but not sure. January they have exercise equipment. I bought an exercise ball last year and have been happy with it. My one upstairs was punctured by my grandkids taking it outside. Grandsons (13 yo triplets) loved my kettle balls, I bought them dumbbells and a barbell set for Christmas, told their grandfather he needed to get them a bench to go with them (he did).

Jenn, I miss things now. I need to figure out how to get local channels and news on roku. I canceled my satellite.

I have made black bean chocolate torte - the cocoa powder and chocolate completely disguises any bean taste! Delicious.

Grins, might try them at work and not tell any one, my team thinks I cook with beans all the time because of what I take for lunch. They are always surprised when I bring something they consider "normal"

It is yummy - and you can eliminate or limit use of flour.

Will have to try.
