Nice, what are the green toms like? Never thought roast them (I’ve got loads 😬)

They’re pretty sour 😂 i was told to put them in a salsa or curry but I thought I’d try them plain first and see. Do you have any suggestions? Meera sodha‘s tomato curry recipe is fantastic, I was thinking to try that next (possibly with a little added sugar!)

That’s a good shout. They say make green tomato chutney don’t they but... that’s a shizz load of sugar. Salsa sounds like the ticket, bit of chilli, lime, soy sauce, garlic - could make it Asian inspired and have it as a side with fish and stuff

Yum, I think you are on to a winner there! With some diced onion and fresh coriander too 😋

when I've had fried green tomatoes, it involved corn meal, which is sweeter than flour. I've never made them myself, but I'm thinking if you look up recipes, you can find the ingredients to compliment the sour taste and you don't have to actually make them

Oh that’s interesting! Thanks for the tip, I will 😊 These were simply roasted with a little dressing. I did like the sourness, but only with everything else!

do you add any curcuma when scrambling tofu? it has a nice yellow colour!!

Lol I went a bit heavy with the turmeric 😅 I also tried adding a tbsp of nutritional yeast and a pinch of kala namak for a cheesy, eggy flavour!

Kala namak...black salt, i didn't know it has a cheese flavour....I should try 😉

Oh sorry I meant the yeast for cheesiness and kala namak for egginess! I don’t really like kala namak in this recipe tbh 😅 it was in the name of science lol
