My quote for the way my week is going.

DO NOT allow the actions of others to sabotage your day!!!

I'm trying hard to do that as it has been a trying work week and one person's actions and attitudes have sidetracked me into lots of stress. All work related and I usually don't allow work to affect the rest of my life.

I have not been as good with food this week and have had some red wine.

An excellent motto to live by.

Great quote! I know it's easier said than done but you'll get there. Tomorrow is Friday and you hopefully have the full weekend to recoup

I have a chemical engineer friend that says we should build up our "professional Teflon", they will try to burn you but it won't stick to you 😉

i had to adopt the zero friend policy at work and made my point known it's the only way i can survive. sorry that your week is not going so well

You are so right! It's a miserable person that tries to steal other people's sunshine, I'm like Katrina and the Waves, I'm walking on sunshine while they drowning in their tears.

Work sometimes can be a shit show. Hang in there 😱. You are definitely right , don’t let it sidetrack you any more. You are in full control. Good luck

Dang lost my post but probably more than i should post anyway. Thanks everyone for your support. Kind of venting here also. My sabotage continues though i can normally manage it, not succeeding this week. I used to be a teacher: elementary and behavior problem pre schoo!ers (ones that would now be mostly classified now as young sociopaths) and also owned A business - just a background tweet. I work for a company that does customer service, processing and record keeping for investment companies. I am lead on a customer service incoming call center for 47 mutual fund companies. I have a mostly great team and they rely on me support and help them as much as i can. They trust me. Part of my job is training. I have a person who started training in october and still does not know the basics. She is not choosing to learn. I was not her initial primary trainer as i had another person from her class working with me but have been assigned as remedial since january. She spent 4:weeks with me all day everyday. She still has no clue on most of the basics: i know she has been trained. About 2-3 weeks out of a month i am remoted into her live calls for coaching much of my day. Banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to motivate to learn- my boss doing the same. We deal with people's money-we have to know what we are doing. Today i had to Ok a 20 million dollar transaction one of teammates processed. It's the not caring on her part that is frustrating to me and my boss.. I can't go into a conference room and talk to her or my boss. Working from home. It is all via chat and email. If in the office i would request a conversation between the 3 of us to see what we could come up with. I will make it through.

One other suggestion would be to schedule a weekly one-on- one via phone where you can go over some of your observations, and also where she can ask for advice. I have worked from home for nearly 20 years and management that was the most effective kept in close contact with my entire team via weekly team meetings as well as a weekly one on one. Good luck!

Can she be fired? I work for the government so our incompetent people get promoted (jk but it seems like it happens that way)

Why is this person still there? Are you keeping records of her incompetence? Seems to me a case needs to be built so that you can go to HR and request her termination.

Love your support!!! My FS friends are amazing. Weight is not always about food and exercise it's about your life! I had too much wine last night. Went and logged into my work computer and sent my boss an email probably should not have done that but i did get my points across. I did tell my boss that i had been drinking wine. She laughed . She knows that i have been frustrated and knows i like beer and wine. I essentially told her i wished the the 3 of us could sit in a conference room and talk. That i feel this teammate is not choosing to learn and i cannot force her to learn. That i have tried everything i can think of and whatever my boss has come up with to assist as well over the last 5 months of remedial training to try to help her and convince her that she needs to work at learning. I have a teaching background. My last teaching position was at a behavior problem pre school. Basically 5 year old psychopaths- they were scary and heart wrenching at the same time. Kids you wanted to hug and make their lives better but they had already burned down homes or tried to kill people. We will see what happens in the future. Shirley, me working with her and constant feed back to my boss might be additional documentation for HR. I m not in a position to request terminating. I'm not in on that currently. I have been in that role of documenting in the past with people who were not succeeding. Tami, i am on the phone with her often coaching her most everyday as she is lost. I am documenting everything. I am not a manager and do want that job-- been there done that not again. I escalate to my manager and she takes it from there. i am 2nd in command on my team. They keep asking me to apply for management like weekly. I will stay where i am i do not need the additional stress. A 4 hour meeting between my boss and this person today. Will see what next week brings. I am in charge on Monday as my boss is out. I need to follow my own quote. So here is to a better next week!!!
