*Virtual hug* to you Chestnut. Stay strong and stay safe mate. We can get through this is we stick together and don't give up hope. The sacrifices we have all made - freedom, socialisation, walks on the beach, drinks in the pub, meals out, hugging our relatives and friends - WILL be worthwhile if it means we can beat this horrible and indiscriminate virus. Keep hope in your heart and we will win through. You have others on here who will give support when you feel low, so remember that when the day seems long and the nights seem dark and lonely. Thoughts with you and with everyone else. Can I just ask EVERYONE to give a smile to all they pass (at a safe distance) when out for exercise or essential journeys. I know (from dealing with our patients) it is better to get a smile than have someone being miserable and I try to do that when I shop and I have had more smiles back than ever before. There is no excuse for anyone to be rude to others just because they are having a bad day (to mis-quote from Fiddler on The Roof "so what if you are having a bad day....why should I suffer?".

NP mate - difficult to stay positive at times like these. I've had my low moments and it isn't good to get in that place, so look at the good things - like the flowers in your garden (or someone else's!); listen to the birdsong we can hear instead of drone of traffic; fine a little sunshine to sit in and remember THERE IS LIFE AFTER LOCKDOWN.

That's it - positive mental attitude. Had a lad laying some slabs in our front garden so the chairs dont sink into the grass (cant really call it a lawn!) so tomorrow we can sit out there with a few drinks and enjoy - hopefully - some sunshine. We've been gardening and neighbour had a delivery of bedding plants yesterday and had put in order for me - so now I have 200 bedding begonias to start caring for! Wont be planting for another week or two (some spring bedding seems to have got a new lease of life and has burst into second blooms this week so a shame to rip them out just yet). Then we will have colour and beauty for the summer, whatever happens next. Working through my list of jobs (yes, OK the garage clear-out hasn't been tackled yet) so looking on the bright side of it all. About to take the dog out for his afternoon run (while I walk engrossed either in birdsong or an audiobook) and enjoy a bit of sunshine. Stay well and lods of positive vibes to everyone.

Hi everyone i am well thank you, what annoys me about the news is all they talk about is to come out of lockdown so thay can get the economy going they seem to forget people are still dying.

We will get through this, not easy for anyone but lives are the most important things. I hate that we are going through this , I worry about my brothers, my 3 children, my 3 grandsons and another due in June. I am willing to sit alone in my house to ensure their safety, and I hope others are willing to do the same for their loved ones and others.

Chestnut, I'm glad your back here 😀. Always remember you will have someone to talk to on this brilliant app. Please keep talking and when ever you feel at a low ebb post your thoughts on here good or bad, there will be someone to listen and give you the encouragement you need. Your not alone...you have your FS friends x

Good Morning Chestnut! A dull and overcast morning here with a few spots of rain, but that isn't going to dampen my mood today. Just had some cereal and coffee and about to take Roco out for his morning run around the fields. We're very fortunate to live in such a lovely part of the country but there do seem to be rather a lot of people from outside the area also coming to enjoy it - hmmm! We should have had Badminton Horse Trials starting this week and we were expecting the usual traffic chaos through our village but it will remain peaceful for a change. Looking forward to sorting out more of the garden today, despite the dull day, ready to have an explosion of colour over the next few months - well that's the plan anyway. Glad I spoke with my neighbour as he got bedding plants at wholesale prices (he was a landscape gardener and still has contacts). Have you managed to enjoy your garden while we've had a little sunshine? Have a great day my friend and remember we will look back on this and wonder why it felt so bad at the time.

Oh - as Kay says - it is worth our sacrifices now to protect others we love. After the effort we've all made it isn't worth throwing it away in frustration and losing the ground we have gained. Idiots who go out and about now are only making it worse for everyone.

Good morning it is nice to talk with someone who has sanity, there are people on here with mental problems.

Chris how many horses do they find guilty or is that just Princess Anne?

Hi mate. Well this thing effects us all in different ways and sometimes people have underlying issues which are brought to the forefront by stress. Believe me I have had to deal with some complete winkers at work. Banned one from the clinic this week and he's lucky that's all I did. Stay safe and find some positives mate. You will get through and feel so much better as we move forward. C

Oh Chestnut - I am so glad someone else thinks like me. I keep asking that question but so few people get it!!!! There are one or two 'horse-faced-people' who should be on Trial.... I did get sent a rather funny picture of a certain Duchess of (oh I cant remember but somewhere to the South West of Devon) when a wedding was announced - standing next to a horse pulling a rather odd face - lips curled back and huge teeth on display. Text read something like 'spot the Duchess'..... Oh dear that will land me in trouble with the FS police now - wait for the comments.... *wink*

I thought the site was for giving support to everyone. Support is provided in so many different ways - not just constantly talking about food and dies or posting pics of the latest meal. Its far more important to keep people balanced and on an even keel so things dont overwhelm them.
