So yesterday dinner was roast beef sliders (with the left over roast beef) but for me was roast beef and left over squash. My wonderful Husband calls and asks what is for dinner (he already knows I told him) and decides he wants soup and a sandwich. I say okay I can make you that. He says well I was stopping at Subway to get a sandwich. I say okay. He says what do you want and I reply nothing I am having leftover roast beef. He sighs and says okay...I say you go ahead and get your sandwich. It really frustrates me because I feel like what does he not get about me not aching if I don't eat the breads and stuff??? He will not take it serious unless a doctor says you have a gluten allergy. I guess I shouldn't expect anything more...he is diabetic and on metphormin but still eats like he wants to. The only changes are the ones I slip in like splenda for his coffee or using dreamfields pastas and slipping in the high fiber. I don't want to become diabetic and that runs in my family as well. So this is my 'rant' to get it off my chest.

Today is the hubby's birthday and I asked him what he wants for dinner. I can cook him whatever he wants and still keep mine low carb. So we shall see.

Hmm... are we married to the same guy? I say 'I'm trying to bring my blood sugar & cholesterol down' and he says 'so what do you want from Sonic?' I say 'wow, I feel really good.. I've lost 10lbs and when I had to walk up the street today I didn't have to stop & rest or get out of breath' and he says 'good job.. wanna candy bar?' And he's the same - on metformin for the blood sugar and I'm trying to bring mine down w/o RX's or further complications and he has candy for breakfast. *I* try to get him to try yogurt instead of ice cream ...no way. So today he asks 'hey, while you're out today, will you pick up some KFC for me?' and when I brought it in the door he goes 'didnt you get some for yourself?' Duh!!! So around here, I have to cook or buy two meals if I want to continue eating healthy (which I do!). Funny thing though --- I have soooo been craving a subway sandwich. I even front loaded it in my food journal for today to see how much wiggle room I'd have in my RDI afterward.. not much, esp w/the carbs from that wonderful honey wheat bread. However, the only reason I didn't get one was because I didn't want to go to the other end of town after picking up the KFC (which I should have ... serve him right to eat it cold, huh?) But I agree... that's a few many carbs we can really live without right now.
