Had a nice weekend with both days being up days. I didn't go too overboard on my up days. I'm hoping with time, I'll just settle in and not feel the need to eat ice cream just because I can. I stayed busy and active. Went to the gym then hit the driving range on Saturday. Yesterday I walked around a farmers market then went to see an indie film. Later I went on a date to Texas Road House. Met me a cowboy who is looking for a riding partner. I've been riding my whole life so maybe it will be a good fit.

I've figured out that my down days have to be all or nothing, meaning that shooting for 20 carbs is a lot harder than shooting for almost zero carbs. I'm sticking to very basic, no carb foods on my down days and hoping I'll get down to my low weight quickly.

Oh, I'm following Gary Heavin's metabolic tune-up. The original one, not the revised version.

Still working to get down to my low weight. I wasn't very low carb on Tuesday night so I'm not really counting that as a down day. There was too much wine and a little bit of pizza involved. Yesterday was a good day. I had a nice workout. My friend is a cardio queen and always wonders why I spend so much time at the free weights. Well it's for the scenery, duh? That's where all the buff lunks hang out. That and I believe in lifting heavy and the free weights make me feel tougher than dinking around on the cute little purple machines.

Since I seem to be stuck where I am weight wise, I am taking the summer off from dieting. Gary Heavin (Curves) has an interesting plan for a metabolic tune-up and I am going to follow that until at least mid-September to see if it does anything for me. I need that mental break regardless. I'm so burnt out on eating right and seeing no positive results. Workouts make me feel good, but don't much for my weight either.

Here's to a good summer!!!
