I'm getting so much conflicting info from the internet- how much protein is too much? Two weeks on low carb and I've noticed my protein intake is through the roof. There's no way I need nearly 200g a day! But basically every low/moderate protein food I can find is high in carbs 🤦

If you are eating a higher protein diet also make sure you include plenty of water The kidneys have to work harder.

Oh! Now I knew it could issues with your kidneys (one of the main reason I was panicking over accidently having so much) but, stupid as it sounds, I didn't realise simply drinking more would help. Okay, got a figure to stay below, gonna increase my daily water goal, and spend a long te tomorrow looking at a lot of numbers on a lot of foods and trying to make a list of reasonably low protein foods longer than just 'broccoli, cabbage, no chicken' lol!

Hi frankie, drinking water helps flushing nothing wrong with eating chicken lol, you’ll not be able to eat enough protein to do any damage, it seems sometimes people cut out things completely and they really shouldn’t like when lowering there carbs and cut out fruits and vegetables they shouldn’t just choose ones that are lower in carbs like berries, and apples it’s all about controlling and getting the best out of what your eating There’s a lot of reasons for drinking water it’s just as important as eating, I probably should have worded it better and not scared you lol, just make sure you drink plenty of fluids each day, tea & coffee doesn’t count or fizzy drinks, diluted pop obviously sugar free but water is best and that doesn’t mean bottled tap water is just fine.

Also if your intake of calories is 1800 this is just an example and your trying to cut it right down and do what a lot of people do and only eat 800 you shouldn’t you should eat the 1800 just divide it up like bunty explained, because what happens is your shocking the body and it starts to think what the hell is going on and starts to cling to calories because that 1800 a day is used for breathing, keeping warm, pumping the blood around absolutely everything so it’s your body’s own natural way of protecting your organs, your body is the greatest thing you’ll ever own. So that is why people say they haven’t lost any weight, so make sure you eat them calories as well 👍

I tend to drink decaff tea to avoid the effects of the caffeine lol, but I dont drink pop. It's mainly water with a tiny touch of squash for me. And I do try to eat my calories, while just controlling carbs, fat etc, but I find I'm getting so full I'm struggling. What I need is something low in protein and carbs but high in calories that won't fill me up lol!

Frankie why take the fun out of life!

Haha, it doesn’t work like that, your daily calories are made up of 3 things, protein 4 calories per gram, carbs 4 calories per gram & Fat 8 calories per gram. So if you don’t one you’ve got to eat the other lol.

Chestnut, I don't need food to have fun lol Paul, that's just not fair lol! I'm stuffed from breakfast and all I had was a yoghurt and a bowl of porridge! Got pork loin in the fridge for dinner though, and some eggs for tea. Maybe even throw some bacon in with them and have a frittata. Gotta get some number up somewhere haha!
