Chestnut, having hormanal acne kick in at 10, and then piling on weight at 14, led to some pretty serious bullying. Unfortunately for me, one of the worst bullies was my father so things didn't get better once I finished school. My self esteem issues have gotten better since I met my husband and got the confidence to cut my father out of my life, but they're still lingering around a little.

Well done for cutting out negative people from your life! I had to do the same with a member of my family and have never regretted it! As I always say: not everyone has nice parents.
