poppycom's Journal, 16 Nov 16

so, i spent 2 hours going through my wardrobe..
i've been off work for 7 months now, living in shorts/tshirts and 2 pairs of size 16-18 elasticated waist jogging bottoms....

some of it REALLY wasn't pretty.. fitted work dresses and size 12 skirts and trousers..oh dear!

but i've been realistic and got a big bag for the charity shop....

and organised my wardrobe so i can see the jeans and tops that fit me but i never
wear.. the first step in edging myself back into fitted clothes...

now that i've decided i'll never be this fat again.. i have some hopeful items in size 14 hanging on the front of my wardrobe so i see them when i wake up and when i go to bed.. and i'll try them on when i need a bit of motivation or the scales don't show a loss

my migraine is finally lifting and i've run a hot bath to soak my aching joints after all that trying on of clothes...

finally lost half a stone.. thanks to all my FS support when i needed it!!!

feeling motivated.. :)

wishing you all a good day

That's brilliant news about the half stone. Also well done on sorting your wardrobe. You're showing mental progress as well as physical progress. Plus someone somewhere is going to get some nice clothes cheaply and a charity will benefit - a win-win-win!

once i work my way into a smaller size of jean...i bag up the old pair to get them outta the house...cant fall back into old habits that way..i go to thrift store an exchange em for the next size down from the size im wearing...no way can i get into that size..but its motivation ...as the weight comes off or the inches i try on that next size down...eventually they fit...they might be in closet for 2 or 3 months..but its all about working into them and the fact that .. YOU DID IT !!!!

Good for YOU! What a productive day! My very first goal when I started was a vacation we were going on in 4 months. I had a dresser FULL of like new clothes that I couldn't fit into any more. I made it a goal to be able to wear them. AND I made it! Keep your eye on the prize but celebrate the "smaller" goals along the way!!!

That the plan I follow. Once it is too big for me, irrespective of how expensive it was originally, charity shop. I have no plans to go back up. That's not to say I won't go back up, but I certainly don't want to make it easy to do so.

Good news about your injections being before Xmas. Just explain to the workmen about the injections and they'll be making you cups of tea rather than the other way round 😃

Congratulations on getting under BMI30! That is an important milestone and already sounds like its bringing some added benefits. :) I'm also happy for you about the clothes. I'm sure you'll be in those 14s in no time!
